Bullet Life, originally released in 2010, was the very first video game ever designed as a full on 3D Bullet Hell Shooter. Fly through the skies as and blast your way through enemies with a more stratify based shooting system! Use guns, rockets, hover canons, and more and weave through hundreds of bullets!

While Bullet Life 2010 is one of the older games on Steam store, that is no excuse of how tacky it is. Compared to other old Bullet hell games such as Touhou, or the Galactica series this game is nothing. My first impression of the game was simply running throw levels which dodging a dozen of bullets and killing enemies/bosses. I was correct. This is the exact gameplay to expect for the entirely of the game, along with using our characters abilities and weapon chosen from the menu. What I disliked the most is the angle of the player’s POV. Unlike the other games mentioned above, that usually play out as a side-scroller, this game is played in 3rd person where your view is exactly behind the character. Thankfully her figure is transparent so it doesn’t obstruct oncoming bullets, but the whole experience just felt awkward. The Instructions are very vague, and controls are confusing. Some keys don’t seem to work between Full-screen and Window mode. All I’ve done in-game is spam fire, hold the Z key as directed and hit C whenever the pop up shows on the top right of the screen. The graphics are pretty old school too, despite being 3D. Simple shapes of circles and squares makes up for the items and enemies, but the first boss is the exact ship from the Intro. The environment is also plain, but varied as you progress through the levels. I do like the range of music the game has. My personal favorite is Depth. The cut-scene at the intro looked like something made from MMD but was cool. There is also different difficulties to choose from, for those who crave a challenge, as well as modes of play, which are V.S AI and V.S Player (Dead). I wasn’t able to play either of them though. I am not a big fan of Bullet-hell games, and this game has not changed my opinion of the category at all. Bullet Life 2010 is merely worth a try for those who are a fan and are into the old school arcade games, but just not worth the purchase from steam. The poor controls and repetitive nature in the gameply are why I do not recommend Bullet Life 2010, unless it was free.

HORRIBLY UNDERRATED GAME This is a very nice and fun to play a variation of good old bullet hell scroll shooters, but in this one bullets are coming from left and right, and towards you so you have to dodge stuff in 3 dimensions while shooting mobs. It's pretty short but plenty of difficulties each of which changes the game significantly gives it great replayability. +various playstyles - you can pack your girl with different weapons, sub weapons, and skills so you can find what fits you better - more hp and more damage or higher mobility and faster shots +4 difficulties - I completed the easy one with the 1st try hardly understanding what I'm doing, when I got to hard difficulty I've got used to controls and bullet mess on the screen so I got through all the levels pretty good, but the last bost killed me zillion times so I did not manage to beat him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, *harder* difficulty is very hard I still cant stand it and I cant imagine what's going on on the last one. +very nice for short play sessions - 4 levels takes not very much time to complete, well 5 levels if you manage to beat the game on the hardest. +local VS multiplayer (only if you have 2 joysticks) and online multiplayer so you can connect directly to your friends ip or something like that. +practice mode +graphics are not the best, but it fits the style of the old Touhou games pretty much so it has its own charm +very good value for money ratio :) -music tracks are okay After all, it's a good buy, especially if you were missing Touhou games on steam :)
Amazing games. What the hell am I playing?
The unclear insturctions at first confused me, because i didnt know how to start the game but after looking it up and seeing z and x are the keys to use and not the Enter key, i got to enjoy a wonderful flying bullet hell.
*This game was from a free giveaway and as a result hasn't impacted my review in any way shape or form* When I first saw this game, I thought it had a unique take on the “Bullet Hell” genre and I couldn’t wait to play it. However, after playing it, it felt rushed and unfinished and here’s why: Pros: ♦ Sound/Music you can use is decent enough (It fits the genre well enough) ♦ Graphics are great for the time, art-style and genre of the game (I say this as the game was released in 2010 and the graphics, even though they are not spectacular seem to fit the time the game was released and the art-style the Devs were seemingly going for. Even though they are not eyegasmic or spectacular, they are still decent enough for what the game is) ♦ Unique take on the "Bullet Hell" genre (This is great as it isn't just another "Bullet Hell" game. However, it is unique, it could've been executed better) ♦ Fun whilst it lasts (The game seems to only be fun whilst the unique concept lasts) Cons: ♦ Opening Cinematic looks more decent than the actual game (This says a lot for the game and if the game looked and played like the opening cinematic I’d thumbs it up in no time) ♦ The unique concept of the game was executed poorly (I say this even though I said it had a Unique take on the "Bullet Hell" genre in the pros section, the game seems as though it was rushed in more ways than one and that the Devs could have spent a little more time perfecting the uniqueness of their concept they added to the "Bullet Hell" genre to make the overall game better) ♦ Difficulty goes from “None” to “Hard” (This is annoying as it starts on "None" then immediately goes to "Hard", "Harder", "Hardest" etc. Not sure why it doesn't start on easy) ♦ No Tutorial (This is annoying as when I first started I had no idea what I was collecting, shooting or how to play, little own what the controls did) ♦ Free Play mode difficulty selection glitch (This is weird as when you go to select a difficulty the line goes under multiple difficulties and you can even select a difficulty where there is no text telling you what difficulty it is. This is bad as you have no idea what difficulty you are selecting) ♦ Game feels rushed due to multiple typos (This is terrible as every game should have zero typos. Typos such as get's instead of gets, resuem instead of resume and genera instead of genre etc) ♦ Hard to know which control each weapon corresponds to (This is annoying as you'd think your Z, the one you can spam, would be your main weapon but apparently it's not. Therefore, setting up your character/weapons for the first few times is immensely confusing) ♦ No in-game options menu (This is terrible as you can't seemingly change resolution, sound, graphics etc) ♦ "Music Room" option on "Main" Menu is pointless (This is because if you select a song from the "Music Room" you can't use it on any menu or even in-game. This makes it pointless) ♦ Movement controls seem a weird concept (To me personally when you are trying to dodge/shoot things, having to zoom in and out with multiple buttons on the keyboard seems way annoying and ruins some of the game for me as it's hard to move and zoom at the same time. This means if you are zooming in to dodge something from behind you, you are most likely still going to hit something in front of you) ♦ Auto Aim (Depending on the weapon, it tends to auto aim. For example, if you have "Bullet" selected for the "Cannon" then you can hold "Z" and just auto fire killing everything because it auto aims and has no ammo. This makes the game way too easy and way less fun) ♦ No way to tell when you're nearing a boss, about to kill a boss or nearing the end of a level (This is annoying as there is no indicator and things seem to just come out of nowhere at random times) ♦ Hiscores don't register unless you win the game (This is weird as I'd expect when you die for your score if it's higher than a score on the score board to register it) ♦ The hiscores have random scores in them even though I haven't registered any (This is weird as there is a random number in the "Hardest" HighScores column and no numbers in any of the other difficulties columns) ♦ Controls can't be changed beyond the two pre-sets (This is annoying for those who want to change controls for whatever reason) ♦ Pricey (For the price there are better "Bullet Hell" games you could pick up for free or even cheaper on Steam) ♦ Hitbox seems a bit off at times (I find this is the case because sometimes when you think you're not going to get hit you get hit and when you think you're going to get hit you don't) ♦ Repetitive (Seemingly the only difference between each playthrough is the difficulty which only increases/changes the number of things spawned in that you must shoot and dodge and doesn't change much else. This means each playthrough will virtually be the same each time with a slightly increased number of enemies and harder boss. Also, level variants don't seem to be unique or change much from the previous level, only the bosses seemingly change between levels) ♦ Clicking the “X” in windowed mode on Windows doesn’t close the game, you must scroll down to exit on the main menu to close the game (This is annoying as you should be able to close the game whenever you want by clicking the “X” in windowed mode) ♦ No Steam Trading Cards or Achievements (This gives you no incentive to keep playing beyond beating the game once) Overall, even though the game had a unique take on the “Bullet-Hell” genre, there are way too many cons than pros to even considering recommending this. Also, I can’t recommend buying a game when it has obvious typos, is rushed and when its price is higher than other better “Bullet-Hell” games.
This is a fun, albeit short game. While the first level is pretty slow it speeds up and gets more challenging in the subsequent levels
好家伙,刷新了我对于垃圾游戏的理解!
This game reminds me of the 3D version of Touhou 6, which the gameplay is similar. Except this game doesn't have a clear story, though it didn't bother me. Basically, you're controlling this girl that looks kinda like Strike Witches, shooting orbs and stuff, and you will have a fight with different bosses. For gameplay, I'd say it's really nice, control is smooth enough to dodge the shots and take down enemies, all these combat is quite intense, as the bullets come towards you at a relatively fast speed, or tight barrage that seems to be nearly impossible to dodge. Also you can change the equipment of your character, though it's limited, but it's a bullet hell game after all, the choices are enough for different play style. Music is also nice.
