This is the first game created by Full Screen Games who are setting their first step into steam. [h1]Gameplay / Story[/h1] Aliens are attacking. And they will invade with... Ants and other insects. You are a young boy, and you will defend your home like Kevin in home alone. Bugvasion TD looks a lot like the NES and SNES Micro Machines, the levels are really colorful, but the lighting is typically a bit to high like a lot of unity engine games tend to have. This game has one unique mechanic i have not seen as main feature, towers need maintenance to be active. This would be great in case the limited energy tower would bring up any unique quirks, but you will see, most of the time I was able to play the levels with the normal working tower selection. But I liked the upgrades, every tower upgrade changes the damage and look. You have also active skills, like smashing with your fist or other different items. Upgrading them also changes the artwork, and it looks really cool. Besides, this it's a pretty average Tower Defense game, yea you have the environment to help you a limited times but its just there, and it is sometimes helpful. The enemy variation is typical in this genre. You have boss monster, speedy units, mass units and flying units. They are all insects and are nothing special. [h1]Pro[/h1] + Skill artwork is beautiful and upgrades change it + the overall humor is great + Techtree to upgrade towers and skills [h1]Contra[/h1] - a typical average TD game without any quirks or specialty - Limited energy tower are far too weak to be a good option - the story is not comprehensible - the artwork seems outdated on a few spots, towers animation looks to casual and static. [h1]Conclusion/ Who will enjoy the game?[/h1] Bugvasion TD offers an above average Tower Defense experience. It tries really hard to be unique with the humor, the environment and with the old school Artwork. But it looses itself on showing you how retro and nostalgia it is without setting a real point why you should play this game. Think about Kingdom Rush, what made you love this game? It was the gameplay that keeps you on the edge, new enemies, new environments and basically the slow curve getting new towers and having a skill tree that would increase the usefulness of your skills and towers. Bugvasion TD tries to copy this mechanism but wants to add its own nuance, without knowing what nuance it should be. The Skill tree is mandatory, or you can only create level 1 towers. It is a decent Tower Defense game but has flaws you have to ignore, or you will not enjoy the game. So who will enjoy this game? Do you like Tower Defense Games and you are missing some silly humor? Do you wish for a nostalgic game you can feel like 1992? Have you ever asked yourself are you able to defend against mind controlled insects? Then this game is for you! Seeing you he salutes you as a true soldier, one that fights because he loves what's behind him and not one that hates what’s in front of him, you stand there bewildered. The General explains there’s an intergalactic alien army is on its way to conquer Earth. They are going to take over all the insects and bugs and attack you and your home. Still wondering what the bloody hell he’s going on about, he asks if you’re ready to control your destiny and defeat the hordes of enemies or die trying. The only easy day was yesterday, don’t forget that soldier, now go kick some botty! Selecting Start Game from the main menu screen, will then allow you to choose one of three game save slots. Here you can choose the games difficulty, either Easy, Normal or Hard. The save slot will also detail any previously saved games details, Level, Difficulty, Tech Points and Stars. Should you wish, you may also Reset Game a previous played game. Your first level has you clearing out the attic which is under attack from alien-controlled cockroaches and ants. These invaders will attack over a number of waves and will follow a single path from their spawn point to your defensive base. As you progress through the levels, you’ll have to defend against higher number of waves, multiple pathways and defensive bases. There are two types of pathways, the ones which can be seen and are followed by those land-based insects and bugs. The second type of pathway is hidden from view and is used by those pesky flying bugs, this pathway can be revealed by using the Special Ability, “Path Reveal”. There are also two other special abilities for you to unlock and use to defend your home. Placed around the level are boxes marked with an “X”, this is where you will place your defensive towers. There are nine different defensive towers you can make use of, once you have unlocked them. The towers are Electric Shock, Trap Tower, Poison Trap Tower, Gas Spray Tower, Ground to Air Tower, Radar Bash Tower, Poison Gas Tower, Magny Tower and Laser Guard Tower. Not only can you unlock new towers but you can also upgrade each tower to level three. To place a tower, upgrade a tower, use a special ability or special attack they all require a small amount of money. You start each round with a small amount to get you started, you will earn more as you defeat the oncoming enemies. Some of your towers such as the Magny, Poison Trap and Laser Guard towers will require your attention through the level. Magny and Laser Guard towers run on batteries and will run out after a short time. So, in order to maintain your defense, you’ll need to replace the batteries manually. Towers like the Poison Trap and Trap towers require you to place the traps down on the pathways to stop the oncoming army. With these types of towers, they can only place a certain number of traps down depending on their level. So, you must keep an eye on them and replace them when they have been destroyed otherwise, you’ll have a hole in your defense allowing the enemy to get closer to their victory. To unlock the towers and upgrade them will require Tech Points. These are earned for completing levels, the towers and their upgrade costs range from one to four Tech Points depending on the tower. Once a tower or upgrade has been unlocked it will then be available to you in game. Tech Points can also be used to unlock and upgrade Special Attacks, like your towers the cost of them range from one to four Tech Points. There are six Special Attacks on offer to you and they are Puncher, Stomper, Prod, Battery, Rolling Death and Carpet Bomb. To complete a level, you must defeat each wave sent to spank your botty and have some health remaining. After defeating a level you’ll receive, one to three Stars and Tech Points depending on how well you did, the time it took you to complete is also displayed. While the Tech Points unlock new tech, the Stars will allow you to unlock the next level, if you have enough of them. In total there are twenty levels to complete with Boss Levels every five levels you complete. In the options there’s settings for Graphics - Quality (Low, Medium and High), Full Screen (Yes or No), Sound - Music and Sound Volume Sliders and Language (English, Russian, Hungarian and French). I played the game on the normal difficulty and so far, the game is quite fun with nice graphics. I didn’t find most of the levels too challenging until I got to the later ones but I haven’t tried the hardest difficulty yet. I did have one little problem, as I was reaching the final few levels, I wasn’t able to enter them as I hadn’t earned enough Stars. This isn’t a problem normally as you can just got and retry the levels where I had not accumulated all three stars. However, on the level select screen I was unable to distinguished those levels I had got all three stars on and those I had not. The game is coming up for a “Supercharged Update” in May (2021) following feedback from gamers, so we’ll see what happens in the future update. An easy to learn Tower Defense game but with an interesting plot and sometimes funny dialogue between it's characters. There's nothing that will blow your mind here but what it does, Bugvasion TD pulls off really well. Worth a purchase if you are a fan of games in this genre. Needs some improvements on lag ie. loading but it is a truly fun and addictive tower defense game. Hope it continues to improve and expand. I'm on board!

The game it's pretty basic you have to kill bugs and upgrade your towers The comedy aproach to the story make it wonderfull and the animations of the bugs are good, normally when I see real bugs feels disgusting but not in this game.
