About
Become a fearless captain in Buccaneers!, a classic pirate RPG. Change the course of history and join a faction with unique abilities to conquer an ever-changing Caribbean sea. Featuring hours of replayability, Buccaneers! lets you find legendary treasures, battle powerful ships and leave your mark on the world. Will you bring about a new Golden Age, or stomp out piracy once and for all?

Pledge your allegiance to one of four factions with unique abilities tailored to different playstyles. Sign up with the British, French or Spanish empires or join the fearsome Buccaneers’ League and fight for dominance in the region. Each faction’s starting location and number of colonies changes when you start a new game, tipping the balance of power and allowing endless possibilities.

Take command of your own sailing warship and engage in intense naval battles where superior strategy wins the day. Sink or capture enemy ships and storm coastal forts to gain land for your faction, then upgrade your ship and expand your fleet to become the most feared captain in the Caribbean!

Whether you’re boarding a ship, assaulting a fort or sneaking into an enemy harbour in the dead of night, you have a wide variety of melee and ranged weapons at your disposal. Equip up to five weapons such as swords, pistols and muskets and switch weapons on-the-fly to deal with any situation.

Buccaneers! is fully-playable in VR as well as standard mode, with shared game saves between both modes. In VR, your full-scale warship is brought to life as you steer it by hand and use any combination of melee and ranged weapons to slay your foes however you want.

This is an incredibe game, not much more to say, the vibes are impeccable, my only problem is how it's impossible to run into smaller ships when you get a bigger one, so it never feels like you are really powerful, i get that it would be easy, but it would be more fun do destroy a brig with a fleet of first rates, although you should keep the larger ship battles aswell, maybe if you have say, a 60 percent chance to get interceped by a pirate brig in the begining of the game, decrese that chance by like 5-10 percent per level, and increse the chance of larger ships, but never remove the abaility to get intercepeted by a brig
I was unable to play virtually any of this game as it rendered the left eye with massive ghosting and made it impossible to play IN VR
If you like Pirates of the Caribbean, Master and Commander or Horatio Hornblower, this game is for you.
This game has allot of potential to be really good. it just needs honestly some more detail and polish. and I don't mean the graphics, the graphics are passable in my opinion. I just want more content is all. Buccaneers has the skeleton to a very good pirate game, it just needs a few extra features and it'd be one of the best singleplayer pirate games on the market. If I could make a few suggestions to content additions. 1:More Ship Customization. I don't mean just cannons and hull improvement. I wanna be able to make my ship my own, change the shape, add new things onto it that you can physically see on the ship. you can change the color of your ship but that's about it. 2:A pinch of Fantasy. This is just a personal opinion and isn't really needed, but a surprise attack from a Kraken or ghost ship would be pretty cool. the ship combat is good but gets repeateitve after awhile, it's either boats or forts, you're not fighting much else, and it doesn't require much strategy outside of shoot them or board them. so having a beast I couldn't board for example could be cool, also add a pinch of fear to sailing if you could run into a giant squid that could destroy your ship. 3:Alliance Change. I don't like that you choose your faction from the beginning and that's it, you're in that faction for the rest of the run. Pirates changed allegance all the time based on who paid them the most. so It'd be nice if instead of having factions that just default hate and fight you, you could have perhaps a "likeness" and you can increase how much a faction likes you by doing missions for their faction, but that would make other factions mad at you, so you could still try to improve relationships with them, you'd just have an upward kill to climb, just like any traitor to a faction. 4:crew customization and interaction. as the game is all you do is buy some NPC's from a tavern. It'd be nice to be able to higher special NPC's that are stronger then a normal NPC, and give them equipment to make them stronger, as well as being able to interact with them so you grow attached to them before they die lol. no matter what faction you're in you're gonna eventually wanna talk to the people you're sailing weeks on end with. There's plenty more additions this game could benefit from, that's just what comes to mind immediately. as it is Buccaneers is a decent, if not a good game, it honestly just needs another good update or two and it'd have allot more replayibility. Are you bored and like pirates or british naval combat? get the game on sale and it might scratch that itch for awhile. There's also SoT which is objectively better gameplay wise, but that's more expensive,
PERFECT GAME however i wish you are able to get of the wheel while cruising
Absolutely awesome game, worth the money! Especially if you are a fan of this topic, then you'll love it, as I did!
what the ♥♥♥♥ is this a comodore 64? Honestly if it was the graphics would be better.
everything is pretty good except the fleet mechanics. wish it had more specific commands available. I love the ship models though - the line ships are absolutely beautiful and historically accurate looking.
