It's a solid game with some cool gimmicks and locations, but I don't think this game's highs ever reach the highs of the first Broken Reality. I went through the first quarter of the game wishing there was a sprint button, but thankfully they give you the hoverboard, which makes backtracking (and there's a lot in this game) much more bearable.
The reality has been broken once again. And it's fantastic.

Finally finished the game 100 percent, 10/10 game, collected all achievements, this game is an eye candy with vaporwave and 2000s aesthetic, most favorite part of game was walking around and enduring the beauty of game.
I absolutely love how the game's progression constantly takes you to new places and teaches you new ways to traverse the map. Exploring the key locations in Natem feels amazing, and the way you use the tools they give you makes each one truly shine on its own. I also really loved the references to Mexico! It makes me so proud to know the devs are from my home country, and it feels great to see our culture represented in such a fresh way, totally different from the usual video game stereotypes. Keep up the great work!
Loved this and the first one. You can prefer the original all you want but doesn't deserve a negative cause of that. I hope another one gets made.
i enjoyed my time with Broken Reality 2000 and recommend it, depending on your tolerance for quirks. I play mainly indie games here and on itch (so, much rougher than what's typically ironed out before coming to steam) and have a high threshold for annoyance wrt glitches and errors; if you are someone that is quickly aggravated by needing to reload to see if that fixes something, trace your steps to see if something failed to trigger, etc you may not like this game. However, the devs are working very quickly and have pushed i think 9 updates since release to fix some issues people have had. I personally never got stuck on the geometry but did have some things fail to trigger or load (fixed by reloading levels) and some errors with skins staying unlocked (primarily the glitched hoverboard skin) but I still had a lot of fun. The only point I was annoyed was the ending levels with some move-the-box type puzzles; one box didn't seem to line up correctly but I was able to get around it using the bookmarker (which may have been the intended solution, I'm not sure). Otherwise I had fun! I played half the game before they increased the movement speed, and while I was ok ambling about i like the current movement speed more, that was a great improvement. I got all achievements with help from a couple good guides that are already posted, one for skins and one a general guide. so if you get stuck just check and see if you missed something! I also had played the original game, which I have fond memories of but having played it 5 or 6 years ago, I don't feel confident making a comparison between the two at this moment. I liked both but they do have a different vibe, and I think a lot of what I prefer in the first game is likely down to my personal aesthetic preference. They are both great to me, though I would say there was a bit more friction to this one for me than I recall in the first (barring the final level in the first game which I was unable to complete like many others) in regards to needing to check guides, being unsure of what to do next but I think that's likely to do with the scale of this game in comparison to the first. If there's a third game in the series, I'll still buy and play it right when it comes out :3
I think it's a step down from the first game in terms of story and pacing, but it has some pretty entertaining puzzles and the environments are pretty enjoyable. It's definitely worth the asking price, anyway.
It is time to let it go. Not everything can be saved I guess
