Es muy parecido al juego de mesa. Equilibrado. Raro es ganar o perder por mucha diferencia.
Outstanding historic board game adaptation. Totally recommend to anyone interested in early anglo saxon /british isles history or board games.
A very faithful adaptation of this classic boardgame!
However, when an AI-controlled regime recruit and every its territory has more than 1 army, it gets stuck (Maybe because of the flawed AI strategy. Need to be fixed ASAP...
Fantastic games all about the peoples and invasion of Britain through the ages.
The game is great, All that I have dreamed of. There are bugs here and there in multiplayer. Have not played single player yet so dont know how it works. Hope they fix most of the bugs asap.
Very nice game. I never played the board version but I'm really enjoying this. Good work devs
A great adaptation of the board game, which I've enjoyed for years
This is awesome! Havin just read most of Bernard Cornwell's works good time! This adaptation of the board game has you playing as a series of different nations and empires. So for instance, one player plays as the Romans, the British Romans, The scots and Normans, another plays the jutes and the angles, another plays as Denmark another the Saxons ETC. It renacts British history from Casesar to William of Normandy. Its not always the same! While events happen as depicted in history this doesn't mean the Northmen win and the last battle might not be in Hastings ETC. You win based on how many territory and which ones your assigned nation wins and how many Roman legions you kill. Keep in mind also that even if you don't do well at first there's opportunity close to the end. Likewise the player who plays the Romans is going to end up in a slump.
Britannia, developed by Avalon Digital and published by PID Games and Dear Villagers, is a thoughtfully crafted digital adaptation of the iconic 1986 board game designed by Lewis Pulsipher. Spanning over a millennium of British Isles history—from the Roman invasions to the Norman Conquest—the game challenges players to guide one of several historical factions through a shifting landscape of power and conquest. Each faction carries distinct attributes and ambitions, capturing the complexity and fluidity of medieval Britain’s political and military struggles. The game’s grand scope combined with intricate mechanics makes it a deep strategic experience for fans of historical wargaming and classic board games alike. At its heart, Britannia is a turn-based strategy game played on a map divided into regions representing key territories of Britain. Players take turns moving armies, engaging in combat, and controlling land, all while scoring points based on the evolving historical context. What makes Britannia unique is its dynamic scoring system, which changes as the game progresses to reflect historical eras and shifting power balances. This mechanic forces players to adapt their strategies over time rather than relying on static tactics, creating a nuanced experience where timing and flexibility are paramount. The ebb and flow of control across the map reflects the unpredictable nature of historical conquest, making each playthrough feel like a new story unfolding. The digital version of Britannia remains faithful to the original board game’s complexity while improving accessibility through a streamlined interface and helpful tutorials. The game caters to both newcomers and seasoned players, offering single-player modes against AI with adjustable difficulty as well as online multiplayer for competitive battles. The interface is clean and intuitive, allowing easy navigation of the game’s many layers without overwhelming the player. Despite the complexity of the underlying mechanics, the pacing encourages thoughtful decision-making rather than frantic action, which suits the contemplative nature of the source material. Visually, Britannia employs a minimalist and functional art style that effectively communicates information without unnecessary clutter. The map’s design is clear, with distinctive colors and icons representing different factions and regions, making strategic planning straightforward. While the graphics may not dazzle with modern flair, they serve the gameplay well by emphasizing clarity and usability. Complementing the visuals is a subtle and atmospheric soundtrack that enhances the immersion without detracting from focus. The audio-visual presentation aligns with the game’s tone as a cerebral and methodical strategy title rather than an action-oriented spectacle. One of the challenges some players might encounter is the game’s length and depth, which demand patience and engagement to fully appreciate. The changing scoring system and the many factions with differing objectives can create a steep learning curve, particularly for those unfamiliar with the board game. Additionally, the turn-based nature means that matches can extend over long sessions, which might not appeal to players seeking quicker or more casual experiences. Some also note that the digital adaptation, while faithful, lacks the tactile and social aspects of playing the physical board game with friends around a table, which can be a downside for those who value the social dynamics of tabletop gaming. Overall, Britannia is an ambitious and rewarding digital strategy game that captures the spirit and strategic depth of its beloved board game predecessor. It excels at providing a historically rich and evolving battlefield where players must think several moves ahead to dominate the British Isles through centuries of conquest and conflict. The game’s emphasis on adapting to shifting circumstances and managing multiple factions’ unique goals offers a fresh challenge with each playthrough. While it may not suit everyone’s tastes due to its slower pace and complexity, for fans of historical strategy and deep tactical gameplay, Britannia stands as a compelling and thoughtfully executed experience that honors the legacy of one of the genre’s classic titles.
