«BrainPower»

^^^What He Said
BrainPower is an abandoned Early Access scam from the asset flippers at ANPA.US/Racing Bros. This abandoned game was intended to be a simple word game/quiz, but they abandoned it, and just tried to scam gamers into buying it through game bundles. Harsh accusations, but this guy has a history, so gamers should be warned if they're thinking about buying this. ANPA.US/Racing Bros have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"My Bingo" = Brilliant Bingo Kit developed by Rumyancev Pavel
"Simple Sailing" = Sailing Regatta developed by Blab Dev SA
"District 112 Incident: Bowling Alley" = Starter Kit #1 Bowling Kit developed by Inane Game
"Darts and Friends" = Starter Kit #1 Darts Kit developed by Inane Game
The game was abandoned immediately at launch and hasn't been updated in 5 years. It blew past the developers commitment to complete the game without any notification or admission of failure from the developer. The game will never be completed. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The game interface is mostly just text boxes/dialogs and features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/HTML games from the 1990s. While that might be fine for the 1990s, gaming has evolved a lot since then, the ATI Rage became mainstream in 1996... it's 2023, and that kind of thing just won't fly anymore, it's just not visually up to scratch. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static dialog boxes... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Unethically, the developer sold keys to this abandoned Early Access game into cheap, nasty game bundles, where they knew it would be advertised and sold as a complete PC game. This seems to have been done in an attempt to mislead gamers into buying a knowingly faulty, defective and incomplete product. When a developer does this for a game they have zero practical intention of completing, this is essentially a scam, an intention to get paid for a broken/unfinished product. Often this is done as an exit strategy, as the developer takes the money and runs. No refunds have been given, the developer kept all the money they took from gamers. Furthering the unethical nature of this developer, while they are selling this incomplete game under Valve's failed Early Access program, they're abusing that program, and not working on this game full time, as they have other projects in the works. That means there's ZERO confidence anyone who buys this in Early Access will receive a complete game, and it's possible that they're being scammed. BrainPower is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Superb game, got it in the bundle for only 93$
BrainPower is a casual word-based party game developed by Racing Bros and published by ANPA.US that transforms a familiar pen-and-paper concept into a digital multiplayer experience. Instead of relying on action-packed gameplay or elaborate mechanics, it focuses on vocabulary, quick thinking, and creativity. The game encourages players to compete by producing original words that match specific categories, creating an experience that is easy to understand but still capable of generating surprisingly competitive matches. Its straightforward design makes it approachable for players of nearly any age, especially those who enjoy language games and social competition. The primary gameplay revolves around multiplayer sessions where participants enter a lobby, receive a category, and race against the clock to think of valid answers. Players can create their own rooms, invite friends through password protection, or join existing matches. The option to customize categories gives every session a different flavor, allowing players to tailor games around subjects such as geography, history, entertainment, sports, or virtually any theme the group prefers. This flexibility helps prevent matches from feeling completely repetitive, as the challenge constantly changes depending on the chosen topic and the knowledge of the participants. One of BrainPower's greatest strengths is the way it rewards originality instead of simply encouraging players to submit the most obvious answers. Success often depends on finding words that other competitors fail to think of, making each round an engaging mental exercise. The built-in chat feature further enhances the social aspect by allowing players to communicate between rounds, adding a sense of community that fits well with the game's party-oriented nature. Short match lengths also make it ideal for quick gaming sessions without requiring a significant time commitment. Presentation is functional rather than impressive. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, allowing players to jump into games with very little setup. However, the visual style remains basic throughout, lacking the personality and polish found in many modern multiplayer titles. Animations are minimal, and the overall aesthetic focuses more on usability than visual appeal. Likewise, the audio serves its purpose without becoming a standout feature, providing simple sound effects and background music that complement the gameplay without leaving a lasting impression. While the concept is enjoyable, the game's longevity depends heavily on having people to play with. BrainPower offers its best moments when friends gather for competitive word challenges, laughing over unusual answers and racing to outscore one another. Unfortunately, the relatively limited feature set means solo players or those unable to find active multiplayer sessions may struggle to stay engaged for long periods. The gameplay loop remains entertaining in short bursts but lacks the variety, progression systems, or additional modes that could significantly extend its replay value. Despite these shortcomings, BrainPower succeeds in delivering an accessible educational game that exercises memory, vocabulary, and lateral thinking while maintaining a lighthearted atmosphere. Its low system requirements make it easy to run on virtually any modern computer, and its uncomplicated mechanics ensure that even inexperienced gamers can quickly participate. Although it may not satisfy players searching for deep competitive systems or extensive long-term content, it fulfills its purpose as a casual multiplayer word game that values intelligence and creativity over fast reflexes. BrainPower ultimately feels like a title built around a genuinely enjoyable concept that never fully evolves beyond its initial foundation. The customizable categories, emphasis on original answers, and social multiplayer focus create entertaining moments, particularly among friends and family. At the same time, its modest presentation, limited content, and dependence on an active player base prevent it from reaching the level of more feature-rich party games. For players seeking a relaxed vocabulary challenge that rewards quick thinking and friendly competition, it remains a worthwhile curiosity, even if it falls short of its full potential. Rating: 5/10
