About

Date up to nine-ish weapons, from dancing swords to heart-piercing daggers
Generated action-combat dungeons and challenges! Stay sharp!
Various combat styles. For example, hit hard and dodge quickly with the dagger, or take on crowds with Lasersaber
Inclusive, tasteful approach to gender and sexuality - male, female, and non-binary romance
Let's get to the point: take your weapon-babes on romantic outings, such as to the club or the beach

You move into your cousin's old apartment, rent-free for the summer. Plus, he'll help you solve your little problem... you've never been on a date in your life!
To get some confidence and meet people, plus earn a little cash, you’re tasked with clearing the creatures in “the dunj”. Soon you discover weapons you find transform into cuties… and they’re SINGLE! (What a craaazy coincidence because you also happen to be up for grabs yourself.) But someone's abducting weapons and leaving them damaged in the dungeon! Who could do such a thing? Will you solve the blade-napping mystery? Will you find love? Or, friendship, at least?
Craft gifts for your bae blades and give them when the time is right, whether it's in the dunj or out on the town. After all, a couple that slays together, stays together.

Estoc (Isaac): the sharpest dresser
Dagger (Valeria): tired of backstabs
Talwar (Sunder): worried he’s becoming an antique
Lasersaber (Seven): hard to get a handle on him
Glaive (Sawyer): awkward in the wrong hands
Scythe (Rowan): reaping what they sow
Brass Knuckles (Pocket): loves cat naps
Axe (Jonah): surfer sweetie
Hammer (Leah): fashionable and cute
Whip (Dr. Holmes): Cannot be wielded
Date them all without a care, you polyarmourous dual-wielder, or just be best friends. Either way, you can reach max Love Rank, because platonic love is also real love. (Besides, you can't be romantic with the cat anyway. Calm down.)

If that's not enough for you, mod your own! The devs have already added basic support for changing out weapon looks -- keep an eye on updates for more features to help you blacksmith your own sharp cuties and trade them with your friends.

At the time, i had never played a game like this before. I knew i liked pixel boyfriends so i decided to give it a shot on a friends recommendation. I went in with zero expectations and left emotionally attached to a sword, so that's that i guess lol. This game is what happens when someone looks at a dating sim and a dungeon crawler and says NOW KISS. The loop is simple but weirdly addictive. You dive into dungeons, fight monsters, level up your weapons, and then those weapons turn into very attractive people who want to hang out and talk about their feelings. It is like if Hades and a dating app had a very emotionally available child. The relationships build pretty quickly, which I love. You are not stuck grinding affection for ten hours just to get someone to acknowledge your existence. Everyone has their own vibe too. Some are sweet, some are intense, some are walking red flags that you will absolutely still try to fix (guilty). Combat is simple but satisfying as well. It is not super deep, but it doesn't need to be. Each weapon type feels different enough to keep things interesting and honestly half the motivation to fight is just unlocking more dialogue and dates. The writing is where it really shines. It's funny and a little awkward on purpose but surprisingly sincere. It leans into that millennial anxiety energy in a way that feels relatable instead of exhausting. Also it deserves credit for handling boundaries and consent in a way that feels natural which is way more rare than it should be btw. The art style is BEAUTIFUL and the character designs are killer. You will have a favorite immediately and you will defend them to the death. You will also ignore obvious warning signs and red flags for that favorite. If I had to complain, I do wish there was just a bit more depth in the dungeon side of things. After a while it can feel a little repetitive. But also I was not here for a hardcore roguelike. I was here to emotionally bond with a broadsword. Overall it is short, weird, and super fun. If you like dating sims and questioning your attraction to inanimate objects, this is worth the cash.
this game has been an absolute delight to play. GREAT voice acting and character art. The gameplay loop is simple but fun. A huge plus for me is that there is no jealousy mechanic preventing or discouraging the player from dating multiple NPCs at once. I sometimes find that games designed for a female audience skimp out on the combat but this wasn't one of them. Highly recommend!
They thoughtfully give content warnings and so far, the game is colourful and interesting. Definitely will play more!
Amazing game! Defenitely recommend. The story is rich and leads you to bisexual polygamy :D
I gotta say, I have been searching for another game like Boyfriend Dungeon and I just haven't found another perfect cross between satisfying roguelike gameplay (that doesn't require insane game mechanic mastery) and heartfelt interactions with characters outside of and during dungeon crawls. Unfortunately, the free DLC characters fall a little flat for me, especially since they show up so late in the game that I often have the whetstone by then and therefore get to spend very little time in the dunj with them, and their weapon forms are a little clunky for me. Also, I find the relationship with the professor feels rushed and disjointed due to not being able to spend time with her in the dunj, whereas dunjing with the other weapons helps the relationship level-up cutscenes feel much more natural and well-paced. It's still evident that there is so much love and passion in this game, from the music (and the artists' clever cameos) to the art, and even the little streetside interactions between characters, and it all just makes the world feel so alive that ending a playthrough is always a little sad for me. Personal favourites of mine are Sawyer (my #1), Pocket (best boy), Valeria, and Issac (who I initially overlooked).
The gameplay was way more fun than what I expected. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the dungeon crawler aspect of this game, as it was simple to learn and play, yet complex enough to find myself enjoying it over and over again. As for the dating sim part of the game, I did feel like it mostly followed typical dating sim tropes, but I did enjoy how, by using a weapon over and over again, you could build the relationship with said person who is the weapon. I also liked how diverse the romance-able partners are, even if it makes the title of the game a bit inaccurate. It even included an asexual option (the cat), which is something you typical don't see in dating sims. I also liked how you were still able to build a friendship with the partners you weren't romantically interested in. Each of the options are also quite appealing in their own ways. What I especially liked about this game is the art style and animation. All the characters were designed very well and were made uniquely appealing. The dungeon designs were also very interesting and the concepts of the places they are inspired from were utilized very well. I will say that a couple of the enemy designs came off as a bit generic, but were still recognizable in their own ways.
I do see the appeal and I wish I could do a neutral review, but in the end it wasn't for me. The story and characters was not interesting and pretty weak. The romance happened way too quickly and I did not like how it revolved through the game because of that. The rouge like gameplay was kinda eh as well.
