Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Box Dungeons is a puzzle game inspired by classic tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and turn-based dungeon crawlers such as the various spin-offs of the Mystery Dungeon series.

The game combines many of the expected elements of an RPG with the simple yet versatile mechanics of a sliding puzzle. Players control a character who slides through rooms to attack enemies, collect treasure, and complete the main objective of each stage to progress to the next.
Each playable character has their own abilities that they unlock in their skill tree as they complete rooms and gain experience (EXP). These abilities modify how players can solve puzzles, with many puzzles requiring the use of these specific skills.
At the end of each dungeon, players encounter the Boss room. Here, they must utilize the abilities they have acquired throughout their progression to face off against the Boss, who possesses unique special abilities for that fight.

- A turn-based system by which enemies make moves and take actions every turn following set patterns, creating puzzles that are in constant shift and require the player to identify these patterns and plan their path accordingly in order to solve them.
- The dungeons’ floors include environmental hazards and interactive elements that the player can either avoid or use in their favor, perhaps pushing an enemy into a spike pit or crushing them with a rolling boulder.
Interactables also includes collectible elements, such as gold coins and treasure chests, that the player must collect in order to complete “side quests” for extra skill points.
- Each floor has objectives besides just clearing them. These “side quests” require extra planning to complete, adding a mostly optional layer of difficulty beyond simply completing the stage.
- Their objectives vary, including collecting loot, finishing the stage under a set amount of turns or even dispatching an enemy with an Overkill by dealing more damage than their maximum HP.
- Each player character has their own unique skill tree from which they unlock new abilities, both passive and active, that either allow new ways to solve puzzles or are required to clear them.
- Each dungeon is tailored for their corresponding character’s skill set, with distinct environment, enemies, and mechanics to match classic themes for both fantasy TTRPGs and classic RPGs, such as the Goblin Cave.
- The short-fused Goblin Warrior uses “Fury of the Small” to deal damage to targets stronger than them.
The battle-hardened Hobgoblin can “Parry” attacks from the front, reducing the damage they take.
And there are many more.
- On the last floor of every dungeon, the player is challenged to a Boss battle, such as the raging Goblin Warband!
Those stages involve beating a powerful foe designed with unique mechanics tailored to be tackled by the skills available to the corresponding player character.

Which together with a few bugs causes frustration, spoiling what fun there is to be had. Gameplay gains engaging complexity from a mix of standard & Sokoban influenced mechanics. Hindered by a UI that needs to be reworked to make levels easier to read while pondering solutions. Adding better mouse support to compliment the reliance on keyboard commands would ease the need for three hands to operate controls. Until these are addressed, it remains a FLAWED experience. Perhaps x3 areas of x15 heavily scripted micro levels with certain dynamic elements that cause consternation when planning potential solutions. Areas come with good variety from diverse layouts & configuration of elements. Scaling in complexity with every tier passed. ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ PLAYS like a puzzle oriented version of Metal Slug Tactics, with get-to-the-exit & minor objective goals. Much of the fun comes from attempting potential solutions on the fly, with the help of a useful rewind/forward mechanism. Puzzles are well conceived & demand meticulous planning & a sizeable slice of creative thinking (or craftiness) to make the most of the elements, actions, positioning & timing available to player. ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ ATMOSPHERE captures that dungeon crawler feel with one would associate with fantasy themed RPGs & such. Aligned to it by a jovial music track & audio effects that are expectant of the probable production budget. Adding a slice more to the overall mood. 🟡 ⚫ ⚫ COMPLEXITY from an ever increasing array of mechanics that gives rise to a surprising level of possible approaches to solutions. Built around the core of slide movement, familiar objects such as: gates, ramps, switches, elevators, boulders, pitfalls & collectibles. Further complicated by levels with multiple floors & a wonderful array of enemies. All of which potentially contributes to engaging gameplay. ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ COMBAT behaves like another mechanic in the player's toolkit. Situational in use, with a reliance on direct line of sight, depth comes from aspects like positioning & facing, along with different enemy capabilities that lead the player to pause & think. Causing damage is dependent on competing power levels. Though nuance comes in to play when offsetting the need to gain position in exchange for taking damage. ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ CHALLENGE is a stimulating one when not mired in frustration. Early & midgame puzzles are easy to progress from, but thereafter spike in difficulty due to obfuscation & some bugs. Making it impossible to completely ascertain which if any levels must be completed before others, in order to have the required skills in the player's toolkit. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3762822169
SPECIFICS:
⚫ ⚫ 🟤 PROGRESSION is limited to predetermined skills linked to specific characters. There are no optional or alternative to choose from. These become active when reaching certain levels. Permanent upon completing them. Required to complete some secondary objectives across certain levels. Of the active & passive, some are replaced by upgraded versions. 🟡 ⚫ ⚫ REWIND & FAST-FORWARD is a wonderful tool to experiment potential solutions. Allowing players go forwards or back to any point in the current action tract, until it is overwritten. Would be a perfect mechanism if a 'goto turn' option for quick rewind/fast-forwarding is added. ⚫ ⚫ 🟤 CONTROLS by keyboard require addressing as the current setup feels like three hands are needed to control movement, pan the screen & use the mouse to interact with the interface. Adding mouse support to duplicate these hotkeys would make the game feel more playable for those who prefer playing solely with a mouse. 🟡 ⚫ ⚫ ENEMIES come in the form of Goblinkind variants. A mix of ranged & melee classes, each with distinct capabilities & their own attack/movement patterns. Are introduced slowly across puzzles to accustom players in how to deal with them. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3759327148
ANCILIARY:
⚫ ⚫ 🟤 ACCESSIBILITY is rather poor beyond the initial explanation of concepts. There is no quick way to revisit these info screens either. While some mechanics need better explanation. When amplified by obfuscation at the strategy level. Stalling progress & ramping up frustration, killing any desire to keep playing. ⚫ ⚫ 🟤 UI needs an overhaul to show needed skill prerequisites to complete levels & associated objectives. Given the level of possible frustration from needlessly attempting those that can't be completed, before necessary skills are obtained. Terrain could benefit from becoming see-thru to allow players to see what interactable elements are unseen, behind them. As would better highlighting these in the top-down view. ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ STAYING POWER is hard to know without seeing every area. Longevity is perhaps on the shorter side, given projected count of x45 puzzles & a lack of Steam achievements. Replay value is limited by the scripted nature of levels, does benefit from secondary objectives that require level revisits to fully clear. Those with multiple exits also provide alternate routes required to reach certain level branches. ⚫ ⚪ ⚫ PRODUCTION is quite polished with the only serious bugs experienced with a level not restarting when falling through the floor & needing a restart, & at least unachievable objective. Hard to tell if more are any hidden due to a lack of public feedback. If anything it needs QoL to address the UI/control limitations & obfuscation. 🟡 ⚫ ⚫ PERFORMANCE only demonstrated problems when tabbing out of the game, which lightly skewed the UI. Runs at near 60 fps throughout, with low audible fan noise. Stability was good with no crashes or slowdowns during my shortened time with the game.
Slide puzzle meets dungeon crawler, a surprisingly fun combination. I am usually not into puzzle games but the classic rpg aesthetic and elements made me want to give it a try, and I am glad I did. The rpg mechanics such as skills and a turn based "combat" works really well for this game, and the stage designs really make you think. I would recommend this game for anyone that just want simple game to chill and put their head to work. I got some good laughs with my wife as we argue the best moves to make. I am enjoying this game much more than I thought I would.
If you like to THINK, this is the game for you. Box Dungeons has surprisingly hard puzzles that start getting really hard quite soon if you want to achieve all the challenges in every level. Not only that, it requires a lot of brain to figure out if you even have what is takes (in terms of unlocked skills) to master the level you're in. There are some small things that can eventually get better (I'd love to switch angles using the mouse, for instance), but those do not compromise the experience at all. Now, excuse me while I try to destroy all the boxes on this level for the 20th time.
Neat combat puzzle idea!
Good puzzles, and rather good looking. Unfortunately, no software engineer was available for the UI and an enshitification engineer was recruited instead. Thereupon the thing is a real pain to play; all the good work ends up wasted. It cannot be played with a mouse, and it obviously should be. It cannot be played with a gamepad either; the Steam layout can't compensate the use of random keys (I'm going to give it one last shot if I can manage full customisation before swooning from boredom.) All you get is the rotten WASD scheme with extra random keys, from people who never looked at keyboards and boorishly copy 50 years old bad habits. No options, no config files, no remapping possible. What's baffling is that all keys are permanently displayed on screen, including correctly oriented direction arrows, but none of them act as a clickable button - except for Undo and Redo. What's even more baffling is that the arrows do have a button animation, just no actual effect. It demonstrates a half-arsed port from pocket phones. If the input ever receives a professional treatment, I'll likely update this to a recommendation. The current state, however, while not exactly unplayable, is a constant source of fumbles and frustrations.
I’ve been playing Box Dungeons for a while now, trying to complete all the extra missions, and what I can say is that the game really surprised me. For anyone who enjoys puzzles, the difficulty ramps up nicely, with the later stages becoming genuinely challenging. The game has a time-rewind mechanic that lets you fix wrong moves, but as an extra challenge, I’ve been trying to clear the stages without using it, and it has become a real personal challenge. The art style is also really good. As the name suggests, everything is made to look like boxes, but the game doesn’t go for the overly minimalist style some games use. It still keeps a lot of personality, with very distinct environments and characters. The game doesn’t have a huge number of levels, but for the price and the quality of what’s here, it almost feels unfair that it’s so cheap. I hope they add more levels and characters in the future, as the game seems to suggest. If you like turn-based games, puzzles, or dungeon crawlers, this is absolutely worth checking out. Super underrated indie gem.
