About
Become the BOSSFIGHT when you win!
Challenge yourself (literally!) as you try to one-up your previous party each time though this sidescrolling turn-based roguelike.
Outsmart enemy intents in a series of tactical combat encounters while assembling synergistic item builds.
Discover the nuances in this highly replayable game, lovingly designed to minimize complexity and maximize depth.
Items, items, items!
In Bossfight Tactics, it's all about the items; there are no character classes/abilities/stats/etc!
Items let you move, attack, gain passive abilities and much more.
With 100+ unique and quirky items, there are tons of emergent interactions to explore.
Instead of fixed movesets, enemies are equipped with random items which drop as loot when defeated.
Encounters are therefore always unique, often surprising, and sometimes hilarious!
Beware though, enemies grow stronger too as you unlock more powerful items.
Inspired by Into the Breach and Slay the Spire, enemies make their intents known, allowing you to plan and outmaneuver them.
Adapt on the fly by tossing the perfect item to an ally in a critical moment!
Or maybe just lob a bomb toward your enemies?

No story or cut-scenes; every moment an interesting decision!

As someone pretty new to the strategy genre (played some Slay the Spire and enjoyed it), I found this very engaging and I soon found myself lost in it for hours. The characters are cute, music is hypnotic, and there was constantly something new to discover in the gameplay. I’m no expert tactician too, so the Undo function and Autoplay were great, they actually made me dive deeper into the game. On first play, I got through Act 1 but then died on Act 2 when I faced my former party, now the enemy. It’s a fun twist. I got killed by all the dragons that landed in one boss fight round too. There are just loads of permutations in this game, with all the items as well. There’s no story or narrative, but the game design is clever in itself. I found myself chuckling at the humour woven into the design – how dare the shopkeeper try to sell me my own items?! These flying dragons, are they friend or foe? A portable charger as one of the items?? Highly recommend this to anyone who loves simple, clever strategy gameplay, with all the unexpectedness of a rouge-like.
Simple and fun game, many unique items that can cause several funny loadouts. The auto-battle helps to see potential strategies when I have no idea what steps I can do. The undo feature is great, especially for me who like to save scum and experiment with different strategies without having to worry of restarting. Overall great indie game, minimalistic design, many QoLs and fun mechanics. 10/10!
Very enjoyable strategic game. Make you think how to defeat the enemies with limited resources and moves. A lot of "I wish I can upgrade my inventory" moments so I can beef up and trade for stronger weapons. Maybe a mobile version soon to play anytime and anywhere 😉
Fantastic and very fun game, Did not find any hiccups when doing battle or movement. The only thing i would suggest is to get more rockets, those were a Blast ;)
A very fun rogue-like with plenty of item combinations to keep you invested!
Pretty fun turn base game. The global skill slot is a very interesting mechanic. Everyone including the enemy is affected by it. If we were to switch it to a debuff passive at right timing, it can give us a huge advantage.
Bossfight Tactics is a minimalist turn-based strategy rouge-like but the only minimalist part is the visuals. The game throws you into a set of rules and those rules are applied to everything ranging from enemies, items, NPCs and your own party members. Each rule or mechanic holds its own amount of "hidden depth" where the more you explore the more options you open up. For example,
being able to swap your global item
. This gives a lot of room for min-maxing either for run score or future survivability but it also gives a huge amount of replay value! Would definitely recommend everyone to give this game a go! Also runs great on Steam Deck!
An excellent turn-based strategy game where every victory comes with a twist — as your team grows stronger, the boss fights scale up in difficulty, keeping the challenge engaging and balanced
