Reviews
the game that defined looter shooters, and even influenced other genres which have similarities (weapon loot etc). the gunplay in this game is genuinely so ahead of its time, especially the revolvers. extremely iconic cast of vault hunters, and great DLCs :)
A remastered cult classic.

gearbox can update the game to add an advertisement for borderlands 4 but not fix the game breaking memory leak that's been a known issue since launch
Not really much to say about Borderlands that hasn't been said 1000 times already. Its a lot of fun, Claptrap is annoying and its a game for loot ♥♥♥♥♥♥! Pick up some quests...go out...shoot everything...pick up the loot...sell loot & hand in quests...rinse and repeat till you beat the game.
All these years later and this game still has the memory leak which will ALWAYS occur, forcing you to close and relaunch the game every half hour. This is ironic considering they upgraded the game's engine from 32-bit to 64-bit. There may be a few new weapons and weapon parts, but there are some legit weapon combos like the dove hornet and ajax ogre that are no longer in the game and if you try to edit them into your save file, the game deletes them. There are also certain things that never got fixed in the original game back in 2009 like the maliwan crux never being renamed to the maliwan plague or the invader sniper rifle that never got renamed to the executioner. There's also the controversial change of the inventory menu that has annoyed a lot of players including myself. Gearbox made this to raise hype for BL3, but it was a complete failure in a lot of ways. Stick to the original GotY version and download some QoL mods from https://bl-sdk.github.io/willow1-mod-db/.
GG BRO
If you're into the Borderlands storyline, this game, being the first, is obviously one you gotta play. The game is starting to show its age a little bit in its gunplay, but it's still very enjoyable. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a fun, albeit short, DLC pack which is basically just Borderlands with zombies. Definitely a recommended play, especially since you no longer have a choice and must buy it. Moxxi's Underdome was pretty disappointing, sadly. It's literally just waves of enemies and bosses stolen from the main game. Doing a full arena to completion takes 25 waves of that lmao. The loot is also terrible. It might be good for grinding I suppose. I'll post about the other DLCs when I finish playing them.
it is nice, short and fun.
Amazing game, much more serious than its successors, really makes you feel like you're in a backwater wasteland planet (which Pandora is), but it's still got its fair share of funny moments. The remaster is awesome, and the memory leak problem is far too overblown. I've played for almost 100 hours and never have i encountered issues with the memory leak, the issue is overexaggerated.
