Scam of a game. Have always loved and enjoyed the borderlands series, but this just shows how much of a bare minimum they're willing to accept in terms of it even being a playable game with optimization. Got it on release, put 10 hours in it (mostly troubleshooting, crashes, and shader compilations), enjoyed what I could at the time. Started a new game from scratch 10 months later just to realize it still has stutter and skipping issues with cutscenes and gameplay that ruins the whole experience. Sadly may not trust the company ever again after this, such a shame. Hope they at least fix it eventually to justify any $-worth out of getting it in the first place.
I'd love nothing more than to play this game to it's fullest, but even with medium settings and frame gen, something about the framerate, and i can't pin down exactly what, physically hurts my eyes trying to play it
There is no reason for a 3 year old gaming laptop to be barely running this at lowest settings. Useless unreal engine. Vibecoded bs
roblox is more engaging
I expected nothing and was still disappointed.
just wait until its $4 on humble bundle a year later
I just cant recommend it. I didn't want to write this review until I understood more of the story but I just... cant get this game. no design choice made makes sense. Open world, cool, level design is now nonexistent, soft locks are out there and you will likely find one. Grenades recharge, interesting... but now we cant upgrade an SDU for more. While on the topic of SDUs, where's rocket launchers? Oh, now they're special weapons that replace your grenades, and to top it off you're screwed out of them for over a minute so, hope you didn't need more than that magazine. Did I mention LMGs make it in there too? so no more funny big guns at all unless they're "ordinance" Its a chore to play, and after 3 proving story writing wasn't there expertise I don't have much faith for it here. at least, its certainly not what I bought it for. but, in this economy ill play it through, too expensive not to. if you're looking at this as your first Borderlands, Play 2, the moding scene is great too.
premium prices should lead to premium optimization. I was gonna tolerate the 50-70 fps natively at 1440p (which puts you at an awkward place to be in fsr) until I also experienced game a crash as well within first 2 hours of gameplay. Im on a 9900x and 7900xt btw
