Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 56.83/day in the week to Jul 17 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Do you like twiddling your thumbs while watching timers tick down? Do you enjoy incorporating excel spreadsheets into your gaming experience? If the answer is no to either of these - this game is not for you. Love the art. Love the music. Hate interface choices that get in the way of playing the game. At it's best, the writing is mid and the experience of the story is highly RNG dependent. Got halfway through unlocking the House and I've lost faith that there's actually an end mystery worth discovering that I couldn't get with opening a random fortune cookie. I really wanted to like this game but this combo of timers, spreadsheets, and RNG is more annoying than fun. As others have said, Book of Hours does not respect player time.
Over a hundred hours and still on my first playthrough! What a marvel of game and story craftsmanship! Highly recommend !!!!

One of the most engrossing and maximalist stories I've ever played. The anti-canon approach that the writer uses is incredibly clever. Amazing game from top to bottom. Frustrating at times but very, very rewarding. Will definitely come back to it.
It's better than Cultist Simulator, but also suffers from some of the same flaws as Cultist Simulator. If you disliked Cultist Simulator I don't expect you'd like Book of Hours. Overall the game is similar - uncover occult mysteries, via game mechanics that are initially confusing but which you gradually work out. The player's experience with the mechanics of the game mirrors the protagonist's progress through the game. What makes the game better than cultist simulator is the broadening of mechanics. As well as researching mysterious secrets, you're exploring rooms of a mansion, and doing some gathering/crafting. Apparently Book of Hours is more forgiving than Cultist Simulator. It is difficult to find the items you need. The main tool seems to be visually scanning the map for items that highlight when you mouse over a related icon. However you typically want to find things that match two icons, not just one. The answer seems to be a lot of physically rearranging items into different rooms, in order to group things to make searching easier. However the rooms in the house don't hold many items. This is all rather awkward. Overall, expect heavy note-taking, and lots of waiting for shortish timers to finish.

I get that some folks love having to discover everything by themselves, but the complete lack of guidence in this game just makes it feel pretentious and unfun for what I look for in a game
A perfect spiritual successor to 'Cultist Simulator.' 'Book of Hours' masterfully understands that the joy of playing is linked to the joy of learning how to play. I implore you to go in blind, resisting any guides is essential, because the process of unraveling its mysteries is the game's greatest reward. That strength, however, is also its limitation regarding replayability. For me, the magic didn't hold for a second playthrough once the secrets were uncovered. Nevertheless, it's a must-play for genre enthusiasts. A brilliant, if somewhat one-time, experience.
I don't know, man. Maybe it's because I was the kid who took a volunteer summer job at a tiny library with a jumbled card catalogue and no other filing system and LOVED IT. I had no idea what I was doing then and I have only the tiniest inkling of what I'm doing now, but I find that super engaging. There is no tutorial, which will be off-putting for a lot of people. But just read and eventually things will come together. Everyone saying they were just "randomly dropping cards" into slots, missed the point entirely. If you want something intuitive, this is not for you. Another reviewer said that if you like to stare at spreadsheets, you'll like this game. That was the review that sold me on it and it was very accurate so far.
