Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 56.83/day in the week to Jul 17 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is not a game for everyone. This is, however, a game for me, and one of my favourite games. Unlike Weather Factory's other game, Cultist Simulator, BoH is significantly more forgiving. It is, on the flipside, immensely more time-consuming and confusing. Fair warning; the game doesn't hold your hand and frequent use of the wiki will be must-haves in order to progress. While this is arguably not very good or smart game design, it isn't something that personally upsets or bothers me, as I have no problem with looking up solutions and how to achieve things without needing to figure them out in-game. It's a calm game with an air of mystery and investigation. You play as a new Librarian of Hush House; the gameplay is composed of unlocking rooms, investigating items, unlocking 'memories' to use to gain skills and decipher occult books and interacting with the townsfolk and passersby -- to gain more memories, to gain their assistance to unlock more rooms, etc. It is not a straight-forward game. There's many skills, recipes to discover, and items to create. There is too much to remember (which is why the wiki is a good idea to have up while you play) but the gameplay is fascinating in its atmosphere, and soothing. With the DLC you can cook and bake and host dinner parties, which I find highly enjoyable. There's no sudden bad endings, and it is near impossible to lock yourself out of the end save for doing one very specific thing
If you throw your journal into the sea, which you can't do accidentally.
If you do not enjoy slow-paced gameplay, having to redo the same things several times, and accepting that you are not going to reach the end for a long time -- I have yet to 'finish' the game w/ 151+ hours on record -- then you likely will find this a chore. If, however, you like repetitive tasks, the occult atmosphere of a small coastal town, and the vibes of making potions, inks, powders and unlocking lore-secrets of WF's occult world, then I highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this game. It has a lot of really awesome ideas, great art, music, theme, etc. The problem is the game mechanics are just too opaque. Even after 25 hours, the basics of crafting and upgrading feel like guess-and-check, without mechanical consistency. Sometimes you can use certain cards, and sometimes you can't. Overall I just barely don't recommend this game.
建议添加一键整理啊啊啊啊,可能有人喜欢,but not for me.
Book of Hours is a game about librarian exploring their own library and finding very, very disturbing books, scrolls, melodies and films. It is set in the universe of Cultist Simulator, a bit later in the timeline I think? So many elements from previous game are there as well. The gameloop looks complex at first, but after trying it out for a while it is surprisingly simple: it's a deck stacking game. Collect enough cards with similar aspects and progress, repeat again until satisfactory results. I've won in 38 hours and read 181 books (had Excel sheet for that!), wiki says there is about 270 books, although a good 100 of them only comes from auction house which appears like once a season or something, very slow basically. Things I didn't like: 1. Soul card evolution - finding the right station sounds easy at first, but is actually a nightmare; since you need at least one matching aspect on both soul cards and skill you use this becomes a challenge: I understand there are special memories to help with that, but this is frustrating nonetheless 2. Color coding - aspects have colors and so do books. For example Sky aspect is blue and most Sky books are also blue, but there are, in my opinion, unnecessary examples when this logic isn't followed and that makes me a bit angry. Cultist Simulator didn't have this issue 3. Mid to lategame skill progression - Numa season erases your lessons you haven't used so you are motivated to use your lessons before; the problem is upgrading skill requires memories, from 0 to 8 pieces, getting them over and over again becomes very tiring, for example if you are a 100% gamer and want to have every skill at max level 9 prepare to sink 200 to 300 hours (rough estimate) in one run for that Players even made a guide about special Memory Rooms to help with skill leveling, it is still tiring. There is no tips on books themselves about what memory they give so you have to either write it down or consult wiki The points above made me burn out and I haven't tried House of Light content at all, a bit sad since it is said there is a novel worth of content there. If you like Cultist Simulator for its lore - consider trying to play Book of Hours as well (I will try Cultist Simulator). If you like Cultist Simulator for its reactive gameplay - you won't find it there, there are no ways to lose in Book of Hours, libraries are pretty safe places. Overall if you like slow, cozy games with a lot of reading (the writing is fantastic I think, although most of the time I didn't understand what I've read lol), simple "get enough material" puzzles - this is a good game to try.
Have to be careful when I launch this because it really pulls me in. Tinker, experiment, learn, go further. Examine everything, try everything. Some hints are there for bigger things but you need to pay attention to the contents of the books.
I'm only 15 hours into Book of Hours and I'm fascinated. There's rooms full of mysteries and the game is not trying to kill me every step. I liked the mystery aspect in Cultist Simulator and I didn't even mind the constant threat, but I am enjoying things so much more in this peaceful layout. If you liked Cultist Simulator, it's almost guaranteed you will like this. If you didn't like Cultist Simulator, it's still possible you will like this. If you never played Cultist Simulator, the learning curve is gonna be steep and things will be confusing, but if this doesn't scare you, you may still like it.
I really love this game. It has an interesting card-based mechanic, but really, it's all about the atmosphere and the lore. I spent so many hours on this game because I wanted to piece together the history, learn about the people, the books, the rooms in the house. The game did a really nice job of motivating you in the slow uncovering of hidden knowledge sprinkled in so many different places and in different ways. At some point, things will start to get complicated and you'll need to get more organized to keep progressing (by organized i mean, yes, spreadsheets). If that's not your jam, you can still get plenty of hours of enjoyment out of this game and probably even get to one of the (many) endings. Also, if all you do in the game is read the books, sip some tea (or brandy), and talk to the cat, you'll also be doing just fine.
