General idea is that you have to spot the monsters who tries to impersonate as kids on Halloween's night. You have plenty of tools that will help you out like flashlight to see through ghosts, bones for werewolfs, garlic for vampires and such. Cage monsters and give candies to kids. With more polish that would be a nice idea for a game similar to No, I'm Not a Human game.
Magnifying glass, bone, and squirt bottle had janky click detection. Kinda took away from the experience

It just feels way too easy. There's absolutely no challenge, risk or reward. Makes it boring.
Solid 11 minutes of free fun!
A cute and simple game. Worth spending a bit of time on.
"Boo's There?" is a student project from the University of Southern California and I'm not sure the students passed this year. Or even got degrees at all. This is a simple visual novel with a bit of "detective" work as you click around this sloppy implementation to determine things about various trick-or-treaters. Or don't. This looks like it might as well have been made in Adobe Flash. It was released in 2023, alongside Baldurs Gate 3 and Diablo IV... so there's no excuses for this one. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
I mean its free so what does it really matter, really cool concept but it felt like a game targeted to kids ages 5-7.
Yeah it's pretty cute.
