+ 4 hours to play first 3 wave turn based game, and didn't even read the manual so pretty straightforward. [Includes time making many cups of coffee. There are options to make the waves much much faster.] Atmospheric. 1950s not 1980s, so teletype and bombers not ICBMs. If born in 1960 (like me), you will appreciate this a lot. Make sure your main strike unit has H-Bombs and countermeasures. Option to play 3 to 9 waves. Detailed things like killing radar stations, deploying spies / saboteurs might be more useful in extended play. Dead body counter racks up the megadeaths. Not an all action game, more a gradual build up and then the bombs drop. Then you get two reports typing out at once! ++EDIT: Designer actively doing updates. Map choices excellent.++ - At first wave the game seems entirely random... [ But by second wave you will see thought is required!] This is nothing like Command and Conquer, so might not suit pew pew kiddies... Might look like Battleships but isn't. First try: Enjoyable, 4 hour 3 wave game. I won! 16 million red dead commies to only 11 million hero Patriots. I admit the win came when I H-bombed Moscow on the last turn. I'll read the manual for the next game. Darned reds under the bed kept sabotaging me... Kept thinking of the old black and white movies like Dr Strangelove, Fail-Safe and the Bedford Incident. I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.

This is a pretty fun little game. The UI is intuitive and the sound effects are immersive. Bombergeddon is a resource allocation game with an interesting, and tense, "bomber run" as your culminating activity per round. As usual with these types of games, you must allocate sparse resources to offensive, defensive, or crucially, civilian survival purposes. As a child of the 60's who still remembers air raid sirens and duck and cover drills, I find this one fascinating.
Very fun sim. The atmosphere is quite pleasant (in a Cold War kinda way); of particular coolness is the radio chatter and turbine spin-ups. Oh, and I LOVE the teletype! As far as gameplay is concerned, it is intuitive, but only after the set-up phase and you actually get in to the offensive and defensive phases of the game - at least in my case. It was here that I really understood the many potential tactical errors I had made in the previous phase... heh. Bombergeddon is a nifty, unique, and very welcome entry into the Cold War genre. I look forward to many more bombing runs. Thanks, Dev! ** should be noted that I have played for 2+ hours offline thus the .1 :)
