Paris, 1894. Class differences and pervasive racism finally lead to a tragedy. A year later you find yourself on trial, accused of a brutal murder. How far will you go to exonerate yourself? Will you lie? Manipulate the evidence? Frame others? Act insane? Confess? Your imagination is the limit.

Great concept, horrendous execution. I received a key for free via terminals.io and i still cant recommend it, let alone for full price. Tedious, buggy, not immersive, and the promised opportunities for creative puzzle solving or finding multiple solutions to complex problems simply don't exist. It's essentially just an ugly glitchy walking sim where instead of dialog trees, you select conversation options by interacting with the same 3-4 objects. This goes in the never play category.
A good game with an interesting concept and beautiful music. Once you unlock most evidence though, the replay value diminishes.

My wife bought this for me after playing The Painscreek Killings and I feel really bad that she did because my game has the gamebreaking Red-Box bug that the devs acknowledged over 2 years ago and never fixed. At least it was only 13 bucks and I hope she bought it on sale...
I have bought this game 8 years ago, when I was excited after Telltale games and "Choices Matter" element in games. Bought it, and forgot about this game for ages. Now, I have decided to complete every game in my library, or at least taste it. So, the taste was...peculiar.
A hidden gem, or a half-made project?
In fact, it's both, The whole idea, the whole gameplay loop is very unique. It's not living through the same story again and again, it is about lying and changing the details as they unfold. There is a straight skeleton to follow, otherwise you will be guilty, because evidence is against you. It is about dancing around those evidences in a way, that whole story is believable. And this is truly unique. The game even feels like a rogue-like, because you have to start over and over again, and with each failed run, you learn something new. This is a nice experience. But... It has "Mixed" reviews for a bunch of reasons. The game is buggy. I have clipped through walls and ended up in places from which I could just only restart whole run. Purring game on pause in the elevator while it is going up or down - and you are leaving the textures. That was really uncomfortable. Next thing, more important - it seems skipping the cutscenes that you have seen over and over again does NOT trigger as new evidence. For example - when I have found thing X, the court will talk about it. But if I skip the talk - this thing X will never be accounted in the end of the game. Or at least it is not visible in evidences. I have kind of beat the game on a "good" ending with being NOT guilty - the game told me about life sentence instead. I went on youtube for some guides - I ensured that I did everything the same, but with just skipping what I have already saw a couple of times. And you know what? - Guilty! This feels like game-breaking thing, a bug that will never be fixed. But I don't care. I know what I have found, the achievements and ending scene is not important. The whole journey is.
Narrative and Gameplay-Wise Unique Experience. You should try it, but with low expectations
