The Boat Simulator Apprentice is quite an enjoyable and relaxing game. You can experience a nice view of mountains and Venice (2050?) while completing missions using a boat. It has various kinds of missions like arcade modes, lesson modes, and ASD Tug Boat. However, I wish that the game would be more challenging and more engaging. Some of the missions take too little amount of time to finish. Another good thing about this game is that you can actually be exposed to the basic way of maneuvering an ASD tug boat. A game that can provide both fun and knowledge?, I'll say yes to it!

I really wanted to like this game. I looked at the video and screenshots and knew what to expect. I think some reasonable trade-offs were made in terms of mediocre graphics done well, and simple NPC characters, etc. The UI isn't amazing, but it's clear and the audio is okay. It definitely feels like an arcade-ish experience and it even includes the tug with ASD controls which seems pretty niche. So I'm totally fine with the game this is trying to be. However, it's just not reaching it's potential as I had multiple issues even getting the game to work: - One time, the frame rate dropped to about 2 FPS after a few minutes of play and it became unplayable (maybe because I switched to another window and back?). Restarting the game fixed it, but it took a while to even get that accomplished because it was so unresponsive! - Another issue is the lack of control settings. I had a steering wheel plugged in and that was causing the boat to always be at full speed, no matter what level I tried. Turns out the clutch was the throttle and I had to hold it at a halfway point to put it in neutral. Took way too long to figure that out... - And then the tug with the ASD controls would be really interesting, but trying to operate it with an Xbox controller was really buggy. Half the time when I moved the left thumbstick, it also altered the right control - totally defeating the beauty of having the left and right controls on separate thumbsticks. If the devs ever pick this back up and iron out some of those kinks, I'd say it would be worth $10. As it is right now, I requested a refund and don't recommend it.

My thoughts after 15 min of gameplay: It's okay and might be fun when all the bugs are fixed. Now it's clunky and the boat controls like a Mario Kart car. Engine sound is stuck when you complete an arcade mission. Docking is unrealistically easy. I'll give it some time and try again in six months.

I would suggest a port and terrain construction editor.

i allready buy this game, but so many bug with "handle engine"with keyboard on asd tug mode. please fix this bug...
