As a matter of fact, all reviews from the past week were written while fishing in the background. [i] Despite its simplicity, Boat on Desk is the ultimate relaxing idler. User interface is great, soundtrack and SFX (with separate sliders) are pretty chill. The few achievements are nice little puzzles. [/i] + The pixel art, gameplay and user interface are models of simple and elegant design. + No goals, just pure relaxation while doing other things on your computer. + You're "rewarded" for being active (mouse & keyboard) on your computer, not in the game itself. This is a great feature. + You unlock new "cosmetic" boats (no changes in gameplay) as you progress, as well as color tapes representing new soundtracks. + Music, SFX and even wave have each their own slider! + On top of that, all sound design is great and perfect for relaxation. Special mention for the wave sounds. + If you're in for some "play", achievements' descriptions give you nice puzzle hints on how to unlock them. Amazing idea and execution, the first thing I launch on my PC.

I was procrastinating some work and finally got around to do it to farm fishies. Also, I usually need to play music to work but as soon as the game started playing, I didn’t notice I didn’t had my playlist on. The sounds when getting to round numbers of fish felt incredibly rewarding, like an irl checkpoint.

Despues de unos 2170 peces, puedo decir que es un juego sencillo pero muy agradable y que la realidad es que lo uso bastante para trabajar porque tiene una música y sonido chulísimos. Me relaja un montón. A veces cambio la canción o el tipo de barco para oír cositas distintas ya que otorga suficiente variedad. Como vas consiguiendo premios a medida que pescas, hace ilusión ver los nuevos regalitos y en parte me ha "picado" a tenerlo más rato abierto, incluso buscando los logros. Lo dicho, una experiencia muy amable a la que espero que incluyan alguna cosa más como eventos emergentes y nuevos coleccionables que seguro que hacen ilusión y alargan más la sensación de descubrimiento.

The best thing to have in the background while you are working or casually using your pc. The music is so soothing and unique, it really makes you want to discover all the pieces. Also the artstyle just fits in so perfectly and looks so cool, nice job!

A perfect fit to finish postponed work. A refreshing and relaxing tool to get the work done. Cheers to the kind of 'adaptive' music :D

Música relajante, barcos bonitos, sonidos del mar de fondo, perfecto para currar.

Me gusta muchísimo, entre las canciones, los sonidos de pesca leves, el sonido del mar, lo chulos que son todos los barquitos y el resto de elementos que lo rodean hacen que sea un juego maravilloso que tener de fondo y no genera distracciones, personalmente me concentro mucho más trabajando ^^

I really want to like this game, but I can't. The description claims that if you "type a few words or move the mouse for a bit, the fish will start to appear", but that is simply a lie. I move my mouse and click a lot, yet no fish ever appear. As a matter of fact, as of today, as I am typing this review right now, no fish are showing up. The middle of the screen just sits there saying to start typing, even though that is exactly what I am doing. It is really frustrating when the core mechanic refuses to recognize your inputs. There are also lots of boats to collect, which is probably triggered by how many fish you catch. I am missing two boats as of now, but the menu is missing a basic quality of life feature. There is no label on any of the boats. The art looks great, not going to lie, but the achievements require you to recognize specific boats just by looking at them. I am pretty bad at doing that and I can't really tell what is what. Because of the lack of labels, I even tried equipping every single boat while playing a certain tape song for an hour each, and I still couldn't get the achievement to trigger. With broken tracking and a confusing collection system, I just cannot recommend it.
