I absolutely cannot recommend this game. In my opinion, it barely even qualifies as a game, and here’s why. First of all, the walking distances are extremely long — whether it’s the forest path or, for some reason, the basement areas — and the game doesn’t even let you run. This means you spend a huge amount of time slowly walking from one place to another with nothing interesting happening. On top of that, the game feels more like a cutscene simulator than an actual interactive experience. Climbing ladders, approaching the house, using items — almost everything triggers some kind of animation or cutscene. Often you walk about 5–10 meters and then another animation starts. It constantly interrupts gameplay. The animations themselves are painfully slow. For example, opening a door with a crowbar took almost 20 seconds. Even the UI in the menu somehow feels slow and unresponsive, which makes everything even more frustrating. There’s also a section in the basement where you’re supposed to run away from a monster. The problem is that you basically need to know in advance that the chase is about to start. If you don’t already start moving in the right direction immediately, you won’t escape. Then there’s the “flashback” scene where you collect teddy bears. It’s honestly one of the weirdest and most out-of-place moments I’ve seen in a horror game. The environmental design also makes very little sense. For example, the hospital fence has three large double gates. One of them looks logical, but the second is placed among a bunch of trees, and the third is only partially connected to a road. It just feels random and poorly thought out. Inside the hospital, the lighting is extremely strange. The lamp effects cover a large portion of the camera view, making it almost impossible to see more than a couple of meters ahead. The level design is full of confusing choices. There’s a hospital room that contains a bed with curtains — which would make sense — but in the same room there’s also an entire wall of bookshelves, administrative desks, visitor benches, and a machine that looks like it’s meant for blood testing. Meanwhile, the hallway outside has a massive industrial steel door like something you’d expect in a factory. Apparently, the hospital also stores documents in cabinets and shelves placed directly in the hallway where anyone could access them. Another strange detail: after I turned the power back on, the big steel door was open. Normally doors like that either slide sideways or function like a regular door. But in this game, it apparently opens upward like a garage door, which makes absolutely no sense for this type of door. I actually love playing indie games because they often bring new ideas and variety. But with this one, I honestly can’t even tell if any real effort was put into it. Especially considering that I played version 2 of the game. I don’t even want to imagine how it looked before, and since the game released in September 2024, I’m not expecting any meaningful improvements anymore. What makes it even more disappointing is that the game normally costs around €5. I bought it on sale for €1, but even at that price I still feel like it wasn’t worth it.
