This game is rough. I imagine if this was 1996 and I'd just gotten a disk of games on it I might of found it charming and fun. Kinda like Yoda Stories if anyone remembers that relic... but less refined. The controls are awkward. And trying to figure them out using the in game menu is not as smooth as it could be. The entire control mapping situation is not intuitive. The lines going all over just look messy. It is something that really should of been attended too with more care. The art is good but the cut scenes are a bit disjointed from the gameplay. You get these really polished static images maybe a bit of animation thrown in. But when you're playing the game it's like it's 1995 freeware game. I wouldn't recommend this game at this price. I feel like a lot of work went into parts of it while other parts received very little attention. Certainly the static images are rather beautiful but at the end of it all this game simply lacks the polish of other indie titles at this price point. Some of which are award winning titles. If you only have 15 dollars and you want to have some fun.... look elsewhere. If you're a game collector who is willing to overlook issues in your games and have a strong desire to support indie devs. Than maybe buy it... though I'd probably wait for a sale.
I can't recommend this game in its current state. The controls are awkward and hard to use, and it would greatly benefit from a more comprehensive tutorial. While most instructions are written in the journal, it’s not user-friendly. The screens from Bloom: Memories looked really nice, whereas some of the assets here feel out of place and don't fit the overall design style. The music is right up my alley though and I would love to hear more of it! This project is a small side project to help fund the game we actually backed in 2013. Bloom: Memories was supposed to be released in 2015 but faced numerous setbacks. The team spent all the money, and eventually, they fell apart. At this point, it's been so many years that I consider it as money lost. Between this project's issues and the whole Epic Games hijacking Kickstarter campaigns, I'm unlikely to fund another one in the near future. If the promised game still ever releases, cool, but I'm not holding my breath. As another backer put it: "Cash paid for goods promised is a loss of both cash and goods." Update on the developer's PR handling: "PS: To you few guys in the comments that drop by every now and then.... you are way too dramatic!! lol, this is a grossly underfunded ambitious indie game being made by a few people (with me handling most of it). Calm down, things will be ok. It will get done when it gets done. There are countless other things out there to keep you entertained while I navigate the choppy waters ~_~" Apparently, we aren't allowed to be upset when the original game was promised in 2015. I understand that life can get in the way and projects can face problems, but this is not how you appease backers who gave you over $40,000. EDIT: Just cleaned up the wording of this review.

dev is a lying scumbag thief who took the ks money and ran the dev is a scumbag
Found myself frustrated a lot with how this game played! Confusing combat and gameplay! Didn't enjoy this one as the controls were hard to understand and a ton of enemies ran after you! https://youtu.be/S3FmhsBr2Vg
