Awesome game! Basically a topdown rally/Carmageddon/roguelike, that will give you OMRS (One More Race Syndrome). - Reminds me of Carmageddon on game boy, but with more content and much more variation. You get new opponents, tracks and challengues each new game. - The driving has some depth to it and the cars feel different to drive, so it's not something as simple as a pure arcadey game like the old Micro Machines. - You can customize paint jobs, create your own cars and levels, and set your own portraits for yourself and the AI to choose on a new campaign. - A lot of options to tailor the game to your liking, like disabling weapons for the whole campaign, for example. The best is that if anything of that sounds good to you, you can give it a quick try with the demo Bloody Rally Show: Prologue. So go for it! (The game is DRM free and I play my games offline anyway, but Playnite shows around 8 hrs. of playtime.)
I loved the game, and surprisingly, what I ended up enjoying the most was playing races both without weapons and with as many oponnents as possible. The only problem is that the opponents are very inconsistent, and you end up winning the championships very easily. But it's a great game; I recommend it 100%
This game is BRILLIANT. Brilliant modern interpretation of a real old school genre. Brilliant gameplay, sense of humour, art style, and music. Only two things I wish they would change- 1. Make the collision physics more heavy and less ping-pongie. 2. Have a NON-rogue lite/like game mode where you just have a pre-designed campaign with fixed tracks and increasing difficulty level, like the good old days, and you can manually make the campaign easy, medium, hard, or insane. I would happily pay for a DLC for this, devs!!!
The tires are a little slippery. Even worse when they're coated in blood.
I was hoping this game would be similar to Mini Car Racing, for a long time I could not find a modern successor but I think this game comes the closest. I would love to see more car upgrade options like in the other title, but Bloody Rally Show is definitely better as far as running it on a modern PC with a modern resolution and with smooth performance is concerned. The car handling here is also great, it took me a few races to get the hang of it but clearing a corner by pulling a long drift on an optimal line is very satisfying, especially when you see your opponents fail to do the same. Then sometimes your drift is interrupted by someone smashing into you and knocking you off track which makes you want to throw your controller, but in a good way.
