It's the original Bloodwych! The devs should better explain how the startup options in DOS effect the game load, but otherwise nostalgia at its finest. Happy to donate $7 in the hopes that a remake is on the way.

One of the greatest RPG/dungeon crawler of it's time! Unfortunately got 4 hours in, encountered the "Welcome Back" bug which breaks the game and means you cant get past a certain spot. No patch has been added to remove this, you can patch over it yourself but this requires finding an obscure patch online and downloading form untrusted sites which is a no-no for me. Fix the "welcome back" bug and I will give this a thumbs up, but for now DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. :(
An ancient dungeon crawler. Aged surprisingly little, still sheer joy to play.
It would have been more better to have the amiga version. That was the best version of this game
A delve back into a classic. Used to play this over and over again as a kid when it first came out and getting to play it again is bringing back good memories and the familiar brain ache of trying to remember and figure out where I am at any point on the map The PC port never did have graphics as good as the Amiga, but then again, no need to find an Amiga emu to play it, so I'll happily take that, especially as my back-in-the-day version was on the Spectrum 48K so the PC is defo a step-up from that, lol Information that helps when playing: When choosing audio and video I go with Ad Lib and VGA which seems to work fine F3 is the button for toggling BGM on and off To exit the game: Ctrl-Q, y, 'exit' The PC release always had the possibility of a bug occurring that corrupted the save file making progression past a certain point impossible because the staircase didn't spawn (the long corridor with two spinners and the Welcome Back sign above the entrance stair to that corridor). The devs never could find what was causing the bug as it sometimes triggered, sometimes didn't, but they did release a fix that they shared via shareware (the only path to patching in the days pre-internet). The save file fix can be found by searching for WBFIX Bloodwych
It is still fun to play, but the map is broken and you cannot progress... There is a straight hallway with two spinners and two staircases in the original. Here one of the staircases is missing and you cannot get further...
An old style RPG, with decent depth and the ability to trade with monsters. IF you can get past the "Welcome back" bug, then this will entertain you for hours, for the price worth a few hours. Amiga version is better, but the C64 is purely a fantasic challenge
Super awesome game from late 80's early 90's on Atari St Computer!!!!
Broken and unplayable. I will revise my review if it is ever fixed.
