Great puzzles, amazing music, and lovely design. Honestly, a wonderful point-and-click that everyone should play.
Played this on stream and it was a true delight. The puzzles were pretty darn intuitive, the characters were fun, the story will draw you in. The true highlight of the game is a soundtrack that I would pay a great deal of money to have a copy of. Give this game a shot, you will not be disappointed.
A very cool point & click adventure with fun puzzles. The story is very exciting, and has some plot twists in store. The pixel art style is awesome and uses a nice color palette. The soundtrack is also very good and supports the game's atmosphere well. All in all I can only recommend this game.
Another enjoyable Cosmic Void adventure
I enjoyed this one immensely. I actually installed and uninstalled it a few times prior to starting the game because adult life is unforgiving and I just couldn’t find the time or energy to play it *cries. I wanted to set aside some time to play this in one sitting because I knew I would get sucked in. And oh, how right I was. The art style and colours were right up my alley and Love had just the right amount of sass to make her courageous but not annoying. It was truly fantastic to watch her come into her own and become someone fit to be empress. The story was well-crafted and I did guess certain events correctly, while others surprised me. That being said, the parts I successfully deduced did not take away from my enjoyment of watching the story unfold. The puzzles were not too difficult and the plot was linear enough that it wasn’t too hard to figure out the next steps - though I do admit one or two solutions did have me stumped (just a little). I really liked the UI and the map navigation was unique and simple. The cursor was very pretty as well. The talking prophetic fish was a nice touch and Love remarking on how certain things actually worked was funny too. All in all, I’m glad I gave up going to an art market to play (and finish) this game. I’ll be sure to check out other games by the developer :)
It's pretty good and has an interesting story, but the music is what really shines about this game I feel. The interface is a bit different from the usual point and click adventure, in that you have to click on a section of map at the bottom right of the screen to move from room to room. It's kind of like Shadowgate in that respect, but you don't have to pick "Move" from the menu before going to another room. The visuals are great, although I feel like some extra character portraits would have been a good addition for when different emotions are supposed to be conveyed during dialogue. The interface is very easy to learn and use, so there are no problems there. Overall I think it is a well made game that I would recommend to anyone who likes point and click adventure games.
What a great game! The story, while far from perfect, was unpredictable and memorable. The characters are neat, what little humor is present lands well, the art is amazing and the music was all right, I did use a guide, helpfully provided by the Community here, to go through the game, because while some of the interactions were fairly obvious and / or logical, a handful of them were not, at least to me. Overall, definitely visit the lighthouse!
4/10 - Good writing and plot but bad puzzles in a sci-fi fantasy adventure that feels like it wants to be more than it is. I feel this is one of the weaker games from Cosmic Void (played three so far). The setting and world building is pretty good and the plot is alright, but it also feel like it want to tell a much grander space opera story, you get a ton of concepts and names thrown at you and a lot are of little value to the story. Perhaps they where hoping to make this into a series, and if there are more games in this world, then I might be interested, but in the context of this game it's a lore dump with little payoff. What's worse is that the puzzle design is pretty bad. Too much moon logic and "click on everything with everything and hope something happens" puzzles, it doesn't help that several of the inventory objects are magical sci-fi objects that you get very little context of what you are supposed to do with it. In other point and click adventures you often have some idea of what you can use a specific object with, or a general idea of what you might need to solve a specific object. The map you use to move around with is also pretty terrible with only some areas available depending on what room you are in, but with little logic in why. There are so many other games in this genre that I have to draw the line somewhere of what to recommend and not, and unfortunately this has too many flaws.
Pros - Looks great; pixel art with a beautiful color palette. - Can be played entirely with mouse, including exiting and saving the game. - Pretty good puzzle design, standard point and click inventory based puzzles for the most part with a few mini-game bits that seemed like they were optional. - Rather then clicking on doors/exits within a scene. Navigation between rooms is via a small grid popup menu in the corner. I've used similar systems in other games and it works well once you get used to it. - Decent story. Cons - While I respect the immense world building I really would have appreciated some kind of compendium or codex to keep track of everything. So many names, places, cultural and religious references etc It certainly made the game immersive but was a bit of an information overload IMHO. - There were a couple of times that I swear the solution to the puzzle was something I already tried. I wasn't even going to bother mentioning this because I figure it must be my own mistake but I see that its something specifically mentioned in another review so it does make me wonder if there is a couple of bugs or misaligned hot-spots or just some point and click gotchas like dependencies on particular sequence. Overall highly recommended.
Gameplay: 7/10

Graphics & Sound: 8/10

Narration: 9/10
✔️ Engaging set-up of a princess realizing the depth of what it means to hold power. ✔️ Intriguing story with an interesting cast of characters. ✔️ You get to really live through the main character's mindset evolution. ✔️ Pretty art, nice music. ✔️ The puzzles are straightforward enough to never need to check a walkthrough, but just complex enough to sometimes make you try a few things before sorting stuff out. Definitely worth checking out!
