About
Blood & Bananas is a grand strategy game with a focus in economics during the cold war, a capitalism simulator where every country or company has their own goals and where you as the player is only a part of the world. Be a warlord by staging a mutiny or a benevolent ruler who focuses on diplomacy over war or the exact opposite, build the perfect army with different weapons, tanks and planes.
Be a country and increase your state power with money to kick out the companies or be a company who puppets countries with good business so you can make money and buy the market provinces of a country, launch new products and change their prices to gain more money or gain more demand in a province, build factories and offices to expand your influence across North America, you could also hire mercenaries and take it by force.
Build infrastructure to have more buildings which will improve economy. Use buildings to harvest/mine/extract different resources, monopolize them and mark them up when entities have no choice but to buy them from you. Either you start as a person and work yourself up via the career tree and buy seats to become more powerful than your liege and coup them or play as any entity on the map (tribes not suggested). You can do all at once if you so please.

"Blood & Bananas" is an odd title for a global economic/political strategy game, but here we are... the weird choice of title fits well with the decision to make the game assets and UI with MS-Paint, however... this looks like garbage and plays like garbage, no matter how appealing the genre might be. This is no Europa Universalis... it's a Flash reject mess that could have been a browser game. What do you do in the game? Click through various screens to do pretend economic management and political rulership, go to war, don't go to war... it's been done far better by dozens of other games. This is the poorest cousin. These guys haven't poked this for 4 months. It's lost in development hell and will likely never be a complete, fully playable game. This store pollution is just making it harder for customers to find genuine, fully made games from developers who did the right thing. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. Now onto pricing and value. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download? Give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options. Finally, I'm here to help save gamers time by filtering out the noise and substandard games. If you don't agree with my assessment of the defects in this game, go ahead and download it... maybe you'll find the same defects to be as unacceptable as I did, maybe not. Even write your own review. Positive or negative, game reviews are here to help other gamers by informing their decisions on what to spend their time on.
