Growing up with the original Block Fortress, and Block Fortress: War, this game finally brings the experience to PC. There are some aforementioned balance issues, and obvious metas, but I hope the developers continue to address the balance in this game. This makes me want a Block Fortress War 2 even more.
Like others I want this game to be good, I played Block Fortress 1 all the time when I was younger, but this just misses the mark. Building is tedious and even with them removing the range bonus from your meta towers, theyre still meta towers when you just use high range turrets on them (such as lasers having true infinite range now.) The mineral system is decent, you get to pick a certain amount of mods depending on the wave count you're on, but your mods are not permanently in slots like the original game. The pace of updates is painfully slow though, the game hasn't gotten a single content update since I got it 4 months ago. The difference races both don't have much enemy variety and feel kind of samey (except the zomblocks), blockbots and blockoids both feel like goblocks with extra health and damage. There is a troop system, but half of them are super underpowered (just spam assassins with mods to increase squad size, nothing else compares), you also can't command them in any, so they will likely stand in front of an enemy and just die. Somehow this feels more like a mobile game than the original mobile only Block Fortress game, kinda sucks to see. (and on the mobile version, even if you've paid and linked a pc account, they still have the big shiny microtransaction shop every time you open the main menu)
no online co-op -.-
Rogal Dorn Simulator 10/10 I enjoy it immensely
I love this game, grew up playing the original on mobile. I desperately need this to be multiplayer.
Why is this game so brutally difficult I just wanted to be reminded of my childhood
Played Block Fortress 1 many years ago and was hopefull that a newer version would be available. My wish has come true!
I love this game, and my only downside is that there is no coop like the old game, if you ever get time please add it,
Think I might be addicted to this game lmao. I do unfortunately have a few things I need to say about this game. - There is a really annoying bug in the water biome that gives the blue emblems where the healing mod and barracks repair mod doesn't work and it has ruined my runs in this biome a few times - the jump pack is such a helpful item but I sometimes find it really annoying how I can't toggle it off and on and it makes it harder to land critical melee hits - So far, the robot commands are alright, but I think a command to follow a squad of troops instead of me would be cool - need commanding options for squads - I need a multiplater co-op but I think everyone has already been saying it
Not sure why this game has so little reviews. Awesome game, better than the original which is already a classic, only thing its missing really is multiplayer (both in campaign and sandbox), but supposedly devs are alr working on some form of multiplayer.
