This game is a bizarre, satisfying reflection on modern society. I just finished the main story and I'm honestly impressed. It's a very original, weird and intereseting experience. If you enjoy chill, original point'n click mixed with some idling mechanics (growing economy etc) this is for you. Recommended for those looking for something outside the box!

Not like any other game I've played - hooked me immediately as something to just run on the side AFK and manage. Scratches a funky ADD itch and great world, graphics, and dev. Will be watching Blektre as it grows !

Blêktre 2081 is one of the most original games I've played in years. It is this weird pixel art cyberpunk life sim set in a single persistent city where everything feels alive even when you are not online. You start as a migrant scraping by. You beg, take dead end jobs, commit crimes, or try to climb the ladder. Before long you are buying businesses, running for president, or becoming a cop who actually enforces the laws another player just rewrote. The satire on turbo capitalism is razor sharp and hilarious in the darkest way possible. The async multiplayer means your actions or inactions keep shaping the shared world 24/7. I spent a ton of time as a cop just patrolling the streets, checking profiles, and throwing people in jail when they broke the current rules. It actually feels meaningful. They get locked up for a bit and lose some freedom and maybe a bit of cash or items while the city keeps moving without them. The Tax Collector job they added earlier this year is basically the same vibe but aimed at rich offline business owners. It keeps the enforcement side of the game fresh. There is no cop hierarchy or promotions. That fits the satirical tone perfectly. You are always just a freelance enforcer working for whoever is in power that week. The depth is insane for a solo dev game. The in game Blêktropedia helps a lot with learning the systems. The persistent simulation never feels empty thanks to all the bots and offline effects. It is addictive in the best way. You can log in for twenty minutes or a couple hours and still make progress or mess with the economy. My only real complaint is the population. The Steam charts show it is basically dead most of the time. Zero to one players online on average with a peak of just four ever. I really wish more people would discover this gem because the core fantasy of a living player driven dystopian city is so rare and well executed here. With even a slightly bigger community this could be legendary. Right now it is still totally playable and rewarding solo. But man, it would shine so much brighter with more humans in the streets causing chaos. If you like weird uncompromised indie sandboxes with dark humor and real systemic consequences, buy this one. It is a hidden masterpiece that deserves way more attention.

Best RPG/Idle Hybrid ever, can be very addictive. I played countless hours in the non-steam version looking for the most cheesy tactics and exploiting Blêktreville citizens to get my ticket to the moon and I still have plenty dirty stuff to discover!
