About

Take your hammer and get the coals burning! It's time for fire, metal and magic! In this game you will:
Forge, bend, cut and sharpen metal. Work with wood and bone.
Weave chainmail. Use potions and spells.
Take blacksmithing orders, creating unique weapons, armor and other curious items.
Upgrade your dwelling and forge.
Find useful items and new friends who are willing to help.
Explore high fantasy world while diving into the story of the game.
You'll have to work in the forge literally by hand - grab the hammer and hit the workpiece with it, sending out sparks. Strike after strike to flatten or bend metal. Cut wooden boards, sticks and branches by grasping the saw handle and moving it back and forth. Tie ropes, attach chains. Push the levers of the tongs. Bring flasks to the blanks, spill potions. Use magic books to enchant blades, shields and armor! There are over 100 unique and repeatable schemes, as well as a free-to-play forge mode.
Much of what you find during your wanderings will prove useful in the forge. The properties of items and character skills are revealed in combinations with each other. It's no secret, for example, that dwarves are more willing to work in the forge if you put a couple of kegs of beer in the house!
You have a journey ahead of you, blacksmith. You have seen it in your dreams. And now they lead you. So embrace it. Embark on your adventure and face your destiny!

I have to confess: I cheated. I cheated my way through this game because I have a toddler and zero time. Instead of crafting everything by banging on it with the hammer, I just cut the outlines and cobbled them together. I got right up to the last three items and just could not figure out how they were put together. The voices sound like they're AI, and it's really not very good AI, either. Otherwise, the art is cute and there are no monsters to fight, which is a plus. The hammer controls are wonky and my wrist really can't take that much back-and-forth, but overall it's not bad for very casual fun.
Deceptively large game.
Yes, but on DEEP discount
I do enjoy the game, after a while. The core idea is fun, being the blacksmith and making items to order is quite enjoyable. And the soundtrack is very relaxing and satisfying. Now to the cons. First: Hire a voice actor or three, seriously. You should not have text-to-speech in a fully released game. It throws me off every time I hear it. It would be better if the lines weren't read out at all instead of the text to speech voice. Second: The controls. Yikes. The click and drag thing feels like a poorly made mobile game, especially when taken alongside the way parts move. Trying to forge a dagger with a pointy tip? Good luck, because you have no way to brace the blade at an angle against the anvil. Trying to forge something flat? I hope you can get the hammer angle just so. And good luck if you don't have the saw in the right spot, now half your workpiece has just gone spinning off because the saw bumped it instead of cutting. To summarize, the game has a lot of jank. Some of it is charming. Some of it could be fixed fairly easily (just let me lock a part in place on the screen, it doesn't need to go flying in some weird direction, I want to hold things against the anvil!) But it's definitely got jank. If you're willing to overlook the jank, and the price is right, go for it. I got it during a Winter Sale and as you can see have several hours in it, and plan to play more. Wouldn't pay full price though.
44.6 hours, and only some of them are of it idling while I'm caught up with something else. Let's call it 40 hours of actual play, spread over time. This game is uncompromisingly fair. It will be extremely hard for you to feel like the game treated you poorly. Take stock of your equipment, of your materials, of your guests and their belongings. If you arrive appropriately prepared for a job, your likelihood of failing it next to nothing. I'll admit to not knowing how things look at higher difficulty levels, but I doubt there's a radical change. This game will look you straight in the eye and ask you to solve every job like you would a puzzle. It would also be clear in what it overlooks (as long as the _shape_ of your product is right, what's happening inside does not matter much. There's a demo. It's been there since before the game launched. Try it and see if this is your cuppa. The demo will get you through enough of the content to get a feel for it. Enjoy.
