Excellent example of a serious game that shows how the reporting of history can be interfered with by racism.
Blackhaven is an example of the type of story-telling possible through video games. It allows you to experience the discovery of history through someone else's eyes. It deals with heavy topics but that's reality of telling a historical story.
Wow! Was expecting a quick task driven walking sim. Wasn’t expecting the story and mystery. Very well done. Will probably play though again to 100% I really hope that Cassius will be released in the near future
太喜欢这个游戏了,跪求求中文字幕!!!!
As a lover of history I throughly enjoyed this game. It is slow at the start and it is mostly walking around and reading thing so if that doesn't appeal it may not be for you. But it was obviously lovingly crafted and the voice acting was well done, I really enjoyed this short and interesting game.
Absolutely boring. The intro tells you to "be patient" to get to the "fun" stuff i guess. the game starts with you walking around a historical gallery answering quiz questions. After 6 questions answered I was so bored. Dont tell players to wait for the fun stuff, just make the game fun. Controls are like walking on ice. You click foward and it like slides past where you wanna stop. Voice acting sounds likeits being recorded in a bedroom with no valuable reason to speak. The game starts with your character on the phone with her mom and you cant hear what the momis saying. Listening to a one sided conversation. Skip this.
This is an excellent educational tool, but it's more of an interactive story than a game. The story that's being told is good and very important. But it plays out as an interactive novel, with no player choice or puzzle solving. Every time there's the possibility of a puzzle, the player character will tell you what the next step needs to be. It felt like a game for small children, but the content seems a bit too dark for that age range. Honestly, the game would have been perfectly good if the game makers could have allowed the player to figure out a couple of the puzzles. In short, good story and important themes. You'll enjoy it if you like an interactive novel style of play. Just be prepared if you're expecting puzzles or the feeling of solving a mystery. You're not solving the mystery; you're watching the player character solve it themselves.
Free to play walking simulator where you get to explore a museum, on the site of a former plantation in Virginia USA. You play as an intern, and while doing your chores you discover some of the untold history of the place. Very guided and linear exploring, free roaming is an option but doesnt progress the story and doesnt lead to hidden easter eggs or anything. There's no action, just walking around and reading, only minimal puzzle solving. The story was interesting and sheds light on the dark history of plantations in the United States. There is a sequel in the making, and I look forward to learning more about the story.
As a history major, I really enjoyed this game. Very well made with a great and impactful narrative. Highly recommend.
