Nah. Too repetative, random and boring, without any real attachment to your operatives. I completed the campaign in too hours, feel like it was a waste of time and most likely will uninstall the game and never look back.
A simple yet fun turn-based tactical game that follows the style of the Black Powder Red Earth comics. I've had fun with it, and it's great to come back to from time to time and play a mission or two. I would recommend to get the game on a Steam sale as it is kinda short.
Absolutely a must have. There is an entire world of Black powder Red Earth not only in this very game which is brutal and intense, but there are graphic novels and a 28mm table top War game. I am now completely enamored with this near present world. Small team action in a real world scenario of a failed state being over run with jihadists terrorists, multiple scenarios, the never ending chaos of combat action with a small team, turn based badassery!! Absolutely YES!!!! If you love real world small team intel gathering, combat action, asset gaining, extraction and elimination like no capture kill only... Black Powder Red Earth is for you my friend. Tom Clancy style story telling, turn based, white knuckler. LOVE IT!!!!!

I've played this for about ten hours and I've been back and forth on it because of its artstyle, oversimplicity, crashes, etc. Simply put, if you are a fan of BPRE and like the artstyle, go right ahead. I wouldn't say it's tactically brilliant however, there's not much thought I needed to put into where to move my guys save for the RNG allowing them to shoot enemies looping around corners. Also the bugs are sometimes egregious, I just had a round end because it would always skip my turn entirely for the AI. TLDR: If BPRE fan, you might like. If Doorkickers/Breach and Clear fan, avoid due to basic gameplay and bugs.
I actually love the game, but it crashes on or around the third mission for me repeatedly. For a $20 finished game I would like the campaign to be completable.
This game was pretty good. I liked the mechanics, I liked the aesthetic, I was a little put off by some of the situation cards, but really only like two, it's not a huge deal. I do think a standout excellent choice is how they handled having more dynamic movement control in an action point system. You'll be able to move about 12 tiles per action point, and if you only move five you can then choose to move seven more, so you can use this to peek around corners and then duck back, which I found to be a great improvement over what I think we've come to know as the standard movement system in tactics games. There are a few criticisms I have. The first is that the language used in the tutorial is a little hard to understand at first. There's a lot of talk about "atmospherics" and "kinetic forces" and it'll take you a second to understand it when you start. I also found it difficult to tell which way the enemies were facing and how much they could see. I'm not really sure if there's a way to best communicate this information to the player. Maybe if they click on a revealed enemy it can show their field of view? And the last big criticism I have is that the difficulty/challenge in each mission is inconsistent. The Raid mission is the easiest. It usually takes place on small maps, and once you find the building the HVT is in and kill them, the mission is pretty much over, you don't even have to move to an exfil point on the broader map. The Escort mission is the one I found the most annoying, as it was usually on a larger map and I usually found myself having my cover blown the first few times I played one. Which usually meant losing half my team by the time I reached the VIP. This one needs to be played in a very specific way and it just took me some trial and error to figure that out. And finally, the High Profile Attack was definitely my favorite mission type. It was the perfect level of challenging. Enemies come at you in droves and don't stop spawning, so it requires you to manage moving to the extract and keeping your squad alive. Manage your squad right and you'll come out on top against overwhelming odds. Other than that this really was a neat game, and I'm hoping that when we eventually get the campaign it will help add a unique experience because right now, it's just those mission types. I'm hoping that this game continues to receive more and more content as time goes on.
Overall I like the core idea + (I'm an fan of BPRE). Cons: crashing after the third mission, (but) fixed using an NTCore 4 GB patch. Was able to finish the campaign using the patch.
It's a cool concept for a game; however, for its price tag (especially for a 2D game), I expected at least the controls and camera to be polished... Unfortunately, it's not the case. Requiring multiple clicks or space bar hits to do an action, no free move of the camera that auto-resets if you stop holding MB2. Besides that it's a cool game, it's hard, the cutscenes are simple but cool, and the audio is also really nice; however, I cannot recommend a game that is turn-based and somehow clunky.
