Fun pixelated game
I wanted to like it. I've had it for a long time. It was somewhat fun for the time I played, but I'm more annoyed than satisfied after finishing it. The game gives you absolutely no clue that you're at the last boss, and if you decide to skip the optional LAST last boss by accident, you immediately enter NG+ mode without so much as a cutscene. So much for that ghost achievement, cause now I have to replay the entire game to get back to that boss. This game shouldn't have been roguelike. It's so annoying to finish these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dungeons only to lose your run in the almost non-existent combat. The puzzles are just pushing blocks and you keep thinking it'll get harder somehow but it doesn't.
A pretty decent Zelda-inspired dungeon game. It has its issues but for what it is, it's pretty decent
The premise is simple: you are a spirit fighting through a corrupted world to save a loved one's soul. I played this on a Fujitsu Lifebook U7411 (11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7, 32GB RAM, Windows 11). The game ran perfectly, as expected for a pixel-art title. I did have the game installed on a MicroSD card, and I experienced no load time issues. Visually, the pixel graphics are actually a highlight. They look crisp and nice on a laptop screen. I also used my PS5 controller to play the game. However, despite the solid performance and retro charm, I got bored. The combat, while fast-paced, becomes repetitive fairly quickly. I didn't feel compelled to push through to the end or hunt down the achievements. Verdict: It is an "okay" game. The mechanics work, and the soundtrack is decent, but it lacks the hook to keep you playing. Given my experience, I cannot recommend it at full price. If you are curious, definitely wait for a sale.
Review after 100%:
4h to play & perfect Rating:⭐⭐⭐3/6 A fast paced, action, roguelike, that is quick to learn and understand with simplistic combat, straight forward mechanics, many different weapons, gear, loot, and mob variety. I completed this game on my forth attempt with the first 3 just learning the ropes and making silly mistakes. It is linear, has a repetitive soundtrack (though it isn't all that bad), insanely easy and incredibly short for a roguelike. All the achievements are simply tied to beating a normal run. BUT would I recommend it? well... If on sale. I can't recommend paying full price. It is however a good time waster & introduction to rogelikes if you've never played one.
quite entertaining and very straight forward in terms of mechanics.
I feel like these games did not age particularly well. Maybe get bit dungeon 1 if you feel the itch, but this one changes things in a way that makes the overall experience less satisfying imo.
