I HIGHLY recommend this game. It's really cheap, even if you don't get it on sale, and if you do, $0.99 for what is essentially a little over 2 hours of a great arcade experience is absolutely worth it. Warning: Spoilers contained below!!! The upgrades are impactful and useful, if you play wisely, you'll find yourself rarely ever using the healing item (I only ever used a single one and it was for the final level). The guns are really fun to use, though unfortunately, you'll find yourself barely using them. If you play smart and save a little, you can usually jump from the shotgun with armor piercing straight to the minigun rather than getting any other weapons. Which, once you get to the (not too difficult to obtain and quite overpowered) minigun, you've basically won the game, as all you have to do is keep sweeping the screen and watch out for hazards. Overall, a great experience, made better by nostalgia if you played it before on console. My only complaint is levels can be quite a bit repetitive. There's only three minigames and three types of bosses. One minigame lets you use the minigun early against massive swarms of birds which, once you unlock the minigun, becomes pretty underwhelming. Another minigame lets you grab as many coins as possible, which is alright, but doesn't reward a lot. The final minigame is shooting cans with a rifle. Not much to say about it. With bosses, there's: Running from your stolen truck after birds took it. You have to dodge hazards and collect mushrooms for occasional healing until it smashes into a rock and stops. Defeating a giant chicken kaiju which awards a bunch of money and cycles between three basic, pretty easy to dodge attacks. Fighting the ostrich that killed yer pa. Same summoning attack as giant chicken, but now it can chase you, burrow its head into the ground to target you from anywhere, and it also pulled a revolver on me, but I had the minigun and killed it before it could even fire, so I can't tell you what that attack does. Overall, the game is great for the two hours of fun you'll get out of it. It has charming voice lines, a funny art style, and is overall humorous and worth the effort. However, the only replayability you can get out of it, is if you're sitting on a couch with a few friends or family members and sharing the laughter together. Otherwise, it's one of those games that are one and done type deal until you revisit it a few months later.

"If it flies, it dies." This quote from the game actually perfectly summarises it. Bird Assassin is a 2D side scrolling shooter, in which you play a vengeful redneck on the hunt for the bird that killed his father. Over the course of 9 stages you'll be blasting birds, avoiding obstacles and collecting coins which can be used to upgrade your anti-avian arsenal. Boss fights and bonus levels add some variety, but most the time you'll be runnin' and gunnin'. The gameplay is very straightforward, the graphics are simple (Flash game style), the soundtrack is fittingly goofy, and the whole thing can be completed in under an hour. I wouldn't have minded some additional challenges, like a time trial, or achievements for completing the game without getting hit, or without using certain guns for example. But at this price point, I'm not complaining. It was fun while it lasted, and it's a humorous time-waster. Not bad for 2 bucks!
totally worth it in two dollars. i like it.
Extremely short but fun.
a very stupid and wonderful game that i loved when the xbox live arcade was still a thing
ask valve's customer service, they're responsible for this.
A twin stick shooter with some redneck humor. Can´t really say anything bad about it. It´s as simble as it sounds. If you can laugh about the trailer you should be satisfied for your two Euro. Otherwise... buy a beer instead or wait for a sale. :-P I was lucky to have it inside an indie bundle where it was a nice extra for the games i originally bought it for.
A work of art
