This feels more like a 'proof of concept' effort than a real game, the kind of demo put together to show that the game mechanics work before investing time in developing a full game. The plane is nicely detailed and I like that the wheels come down automatically when the plane nears the ground. Having a save/load function was a surprise too. Everything else has been done better, much better, elsewhere. In the campaign mode there are nine very small maps. The plane's single machine gun can destroy skyscrapers and static blocks very easily and while the explosions look pretty in static screenshots but they fail to impress in the game. There are other aircraft in some levels but the plane's gun is rubbish at shooting at them - in front of the player's plane is a targeting reticule but the actual trajectory of the bullets goes much higher so aiming is out of the question. Also there's no mini map in the campaign mode, it would have been useful especially in the Space level where I spun and spun but could not find the planet. The split screen multiplayer mode looks good but I could not find the other plane. I did crash into a flag that was floating in the sky, UAE I think, no idea why it was there. There was a mini map in one player's screen but it wasn't much help The Free Flight was boring. Water World is just that, take off from an island and fly over a flat, featureless blue table. It would have passed for water back in the days of DOS games but these days it doesn't cut it. The Martian Lands are nearly as boring but they do at least have some low hills. Terra Lands have surreal hills and lollipop like trees, the trouble is that these trees are the only feature and they appear on the land, on the beach and under the water.
This game is truly something spectacular. I almost come in my pants at the sight of the amazing graphics. 10/10 would recommend this game to anyone, especially unskilled players, because the controls are so smooth.
i THINK IT IS AN AMAZING GAME BUT IT DOES NEED SOME CONTROLL WORK I DONT LIKE HOW WHENT sorry for caps you press w you go down and i think there should be some missions but all to gethor i love it i played for more than an hour and i hope to play more. so ya but it does need some more work. :)
That's so barebones... There is almost nothing in the "game". It's like a tech demo. Interface is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ugly. Gameplay is not scripted correctly - you crash and what? Why no prompt about restart? You kill ally in tutorial - you pass tutorial.
TL;DR: I always recommend fully free games, but while this game is fully free, it's not a full game. Not worth a free download and wasting 5 minutes of your time. Crude, messy flight sim. I don't mind the graphics (some good things, some awful), but the controls are a total mess. You can fire with the mouse and brake too, but can't use it for flight, only keyboard. There are game modes but it's never clear what you have to do in any except the free flight mode (where you have to do nothing) so are any of those other ships your allies or what?. Sounded promising, but it's unfinished. I think there haven't been updates since it was released as 'early access', now it feels as 'promptly abandoned'. So, I wish I would have done something like this as a programmer (two thumbs up to the highschooler), but as a gamer, avoid except as a curiosity.
