BigBoy - Visual Novel

[b]Cürüm (Turkish): Crime, offence, misdemeanor or guilty of a crime[/b] [i]''A smile can get you far but a smile with a gun can get you further'' - Al Capone[/i] [u]BigBoy - Visual Crime Novel[/u] is a very short prologue to what will be an episodic crime series, this introduction takes around 15 - 20 minutes to complete it and is available in 2 languages: Turkish and English. The story starts by introducing us to the main protagonist named [i]BigBoy[/i] who is asked by a 'gangster' named Curls to take 'merchandise' in the helm of the fishing boat during a stormy night and the consequences that befall BigBoy during this journey. There is a stylish theme to the menu screen, starting with the title 'cürüm' & a graphic at the bottom that shows a strip-bar [spoiler]where the merchandise is heading to[/spoiler] while above this we see 3 bullets that are used as the menu choices. Also featured on the menu screen is the language selection to the left and to the right a website link showcasing the developer's work. The artwork is completely done in black & white with speech boxes that auto-play each scene much like a comic-strip does. Directly below the storyboards is a gun icon that you click to load the next scenes, there is minimal grammatical errors but nothing that would cause misunderstandings or confusion while reading the story. I enjoyed the art technique used as it fitted in with the theme of crime and the end result was successful in making this appear like a pulp fiction novel. The black & white silhouettes mixed with the direct writing style fulfill a purpose of creating a noir vibe and this truly reflects the Developer's agenda. I hope this project gets more eyes on it as it has an interesting premise to an adult themed crime noir series and, even though this prologue is short to play, it does provide ample backstory to pique your interest. ~~~Liked what you see?
