(As of Release) Not representative of newer versions of the game I am enjoying playing the game. I have played multiplayer and it works really well. I don't believe there is much of an incentive to return to the game as it is (you may be going for a true rogue-like, if so ignore me). There needs to be more of a progression system in the game. I feel like there are some things the game is missing: At the beginning of the game I feel like you should make your first character before entering the tutorial. I feel like an adventurers guild in place of the inn would be cool (with the ability to increase you guild rank). You should still keep the inn but have it in another part of the town. In my mind the adventures guild would have some form of guild quests (which would sort of replace the challenges). Perhaps monsters could drop 'soul gem' type things that could be exchanged at the guild for a currency that persists between dungeon. The dungeons need more floors in my opinion. (Very out there thought, this would defeat the point of doing runs) If I assume the reform of the dungeon happens every irl day, perhaps you could have teleport floors every 10 levels that would allow a player to go two and from the dungeon to back to the surface and then back down to say floor 50 (or wherever they left off). BUT this would not save after the dungeon rearranges after one irl day (therefore, the progress in the dungeon would be lost). It would be cool if the relics persist between dungeons. It would be cool if there was the ability to increase the quality of the gear you take into the dungeon before you enter and have that persist. (You could have unique weapons that you find in the dungeon) In the future having the ability to travel to different towns with different dungeons would be cool. I feel that with some work, this game could be up there with Slay the Spire and Hades.
This game is good fun, it's a cool 3D version of a dungeon scroller, it reminds me a lot of For The King and it has similar gameplay, but the combat is different because your character is free to move around which is somewhat better because you can plan different attacks and use the environment for attack/defence strategies. To begin with I thought the combat was a little clunky but I realised changing 2 settings in the gameplay settings improved this a lot. I turned off 'Hold to End Turn' and turned on 'Attack and Move in a Single Click'. I like the art style of the game and even though the voice over acting is AI, I think it is really cool. I'm looking forward to playing more when there are more updates.
I am a simple lady. I read collectable dice sets, I buy the game. It helps that this is a really interesting and unique game. The graphics are really gorgeous. I found it easy to understand thanks to the tutorial but I feel like it's the type of game that will be 'easy' to play but difficult to master. You earn coins and can unbox dice sets of different rarities. It's exciting unboxing the dice and seeing what you will get and which characters you'll be able to build thanks to those dice sets. I like the different classes of rogue, mage and fighter and that you can mix skills from any of those classes into your own character. I haven't ventured into the online co-op part of the game yet as I want to get used to the mechanics and enjoy playing on my own. It is great fun travelling through the dungeons and fighting a variety of enemy types that drop some interesting loot. I enjoy being able to investigate certain objects to find cool secrets and equipment. I love that there is a daily dungeon which keeps the game fresh. You can build/tailor a character purely based on the challenge for that day which is really interesting. It has a really satisfying game play loop. I love that you end up at the pub after each run. However this is no go to the Winchester and wait for all of this to blow over. I would recommend it in it's current state as it has a lot to offer and the price point is fantastic. It's a lot of game for a reasonable price that is regularly being updated and added to.
The game shines most when played with friends, especially in the arena game mode since it focuses more on it’s best part, which is the combat. Mixing the different classes and coordinating turns with each other is a good laugh! I would like to see more ways to revive fallen team mates though so they don’t have to sit out for too long when they die. I agree with other reviews saying the game needs more time but I’m excited to see where it goes because updates always bring noticeable improvements.
There is a lot of fun mechanics and challenges, I find myself going back to the daily dungeon and having fun trying to go through it.
With the recent update the game feels more "Fleshed out" and the game-play loop is 100% more rewarding, I will love to see what this roguelike becomes as new updates are brought out to evolve and shift the game-play. I'm especially looking forward to the different builds I can create for my rogue character.
The game has good bones, it's still early access but there's promise here for sure. For people who like designing and trying to builds and loadouts, you will likely have a blast with this. The currency to buy new dice can be earned in game as well so there's an incentive to keep playing to buy and try out new builds. Arena most is a personal fave. Game needs time to cook but i'm looking forward to whats to come.
Early Access game, very ambitious, I like the style, it reminds me of games like Torchlight, and playing with friends is a lot of fun. I like the art style and gameplay, and being able to customize your character with dice. It's fun trying to match synergies with your partner, and the loot feels great. Keep up the good work! I would like a little more practical information rather than text panels at times, but that's something that can be improved over time and is to be expected from an EA game. Without being a big D&D fan, I found it fun, and there have been moments of trolling with friends that add spice to it. I also think the game loop is already very well done; playing feels good with the new items. I would also like to see level-up improvements appear automatically, but that's just my personal preference.
The actual gameplay is quite good and feels like a multiplayer take on a RogueLIKE. As the the LITE features...the structure is pretty mercenary. There is no progression, but you can open random loot boxes which gives you a new selection of starting skills and armor for each run. That seems good, but... The actual economy is quite mercenary. 500 gets you a new random chest. You get those by achievements either 50 or 400 at a time. But those are on the order of 50 enemies or 200 enemies in a week. If you grind it a LOT, you might open one or two chests, eventually. Unless you just buy that currency for random loot boxes. Kinda suss, really.
Really like the game, its really enjoyable and would certainly recommend to everyone.
