Protect the Peeps from ancient beings that guard the galaxy
Your Peeps have spent generations underground. They’ve missed the caress of sun on skin, the squelch of soil between toes, the tickle of flies on noses. They emerge, full of wonder, but with no idea how to grow anything - except potatoes. Start rebuilding their lost civilisation by providing shelter, uncovering ancient technology, and expanding this reborn society to other continents and planets.

But the universe is not safe. Ancient, ancestral guardians demand attention and challenge your settlements - it’s up to you to circumvent these creatures that hamper progress and disturb your newfound peace.

There are no weapons, no battles with neighbours for control of resources - just you, and a solar system full of opportunities.

Just a cool game, only bad thing i can say it's very challenging with the hexagonal grid and placement because every building needs a road connection! But overall it's a good colony sim builder that's really engaging!
Getting 100% was long. The core loop is easy and fun, but then you have to waste hours and hours grinding for a very specific way of obtaining something random. approximate amount of time to 100%: 70+ hours (more if you play slowly) Estimated achievement difficulty: 3/10 (especialy with the guide) Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 2+ And the 4 scenarios . Multiplayer achievements: No. Missable achievements: Yes!!! Multiple. Grinding Achievements: No. DLC-Only achievements: No. Time-gated achievements: No. Speed-run achievements: Yes. The "apocalypse soon" scenario is timed. (tho easy enough that you can finish before the first planet gets gotten') RNG-achievements: No. Does difficulty affect achievements: No. Most* achievements can be gotten with the easiest difficulty Unobtainable/glitched achievements: No. Point of no return: No. Is there a guide: Steam one from Csontzuzo is great. First achievement unlock: Make a tool or repair the ship, 5~ minutes in. Notes: * Apart from rare cases (mostly in scenarios) the game has basically no failure states. You can play at your pace. * The difficulty can be set to super easy for all but very few achievements. * Features negative achievements. for example... * There's a really really idiotic achievement where you have to pollute all the tiles of an entire planet. But the game randomly selects a single tile without anything on it to just NOT polute, even tho it's surroounded by 4 industrial polluters, fully working. The guy who designed this needs to be slapped across the face with a Wet fish. * The game sometimes fails to do needed trades, The resource is not reserved, ships are available, the planet is requesting it, all buildings are staffed... but the resource doesn't go. Random i guess, worked fine after doing the transfer manually. * Csontzuzo's solution for "getting busy" still works (the branch is still available). Feel free to combine with "radioactive" * A hint to farm whale attacks quickly. Build the whale tamer and have it ready to be used (max level) but keep an area of wasteland on that planet. The whales will attack, damage nothing, and the taming will fail. The whale then comes back a couple of minutes later. Leave it running for "survived attacks". Enjoyable if you like Anno style games. Nothing bad here except minor frustration with clicking frogs and poluting ground on purpose. Over 51% Recommended.
Before we leave is a cool city building game with many differens systems, but compared to other games it's really basic. I've tried getting into the game twice now, at first right after the game came out and then I waited further development that could maybe create something interesting. The premise is great, it's really a cozy game, but that's it. After 2 to 3 hours the starting planet has been fully developed (as in, all island have been explored) and I start to understand where the game is taking me. At this point I'm not really sure that I want to keep doing the exact same things for 10 or more hours just to finish the game. The building system is simple but not deep enough to keep me engaged, and with each street taking one hex on the grid you'll find your island covered in streets just to allow your colony to function properly.
It's a fun city-building game that I did not expect I'd ever like. I'm not the biggest when it comes to city building games, but this one really got me addicted for 12 hours straight for the first serious gameplay I did. At first I didn't find it as interesting but I liked the design a lot. So I went and played again yesterday and I did not expect to actually get easily addicted. You'll love it once you get the hang of it and find your way to trades, exploration, and such. It's a shame that not a lot of people are playing this game, so I hope that it gets more recognition that it deserves! Definitely would recommend.
A Great, Relaxing Strategy Game with a Smooth 100% Completion ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Before We Leave is an absolute joy to play. It stands out in the city-building and 4X genres by focusing entirely on a non-violent, cozy experience. The mechanics are beautifully straightforward and less complex than traditional strategy games, making it incredibly accessible and easy to pick up for anyone looking to unwind. For completionists, the game is a wonderfully smooth experience. The vast majority of the achievement list is not overly difficult, and while one or two tasks offer some challenge, they never feel unfair. Excellent, well-written achievement guides are readily available online, and as long as you follow them, you won't run into any issues unlocking the full 100%. If you want a peaceful, planetary management game that respects your time and rewards your effort, this is highly recommended!
Before We Leave markets itself as a cozy, post-apocalyptic city builder, but it’s actually a daycare simulator for space hipsters. Your citizens, the 'Peeps,' spent generations underground surviving the literal end of the world. You’d think they’d be hardened, tough survivors, right? Wrong. If you don't provide them with organic fruit smoothies and herbal tea, they immediately plunge into an existential burnout and refuse to pick up a single brick. And the ultimate threat to the universe? Alien invasions? Killer mutants? No. The apex predator of the cosmos is a giant space whale that travels across the freezing vacuum of light-years with a single, terrifying goal: to eat your cabbage patches. You spend hours setting up a complex space program, colonizing multiple planets, and managing interstellar trade routes just to realize you’ve become a glorified intergalactic salad bar for a floating mammal. Verdict: 10/10. A great way to realize that even after the apocalypse, the biggest threats to human progress are your employees' lack of therapy and a floating vegan cetacean.
Sehr schön und gemütlich, einfach mal etwas bauen, forschen & entdecken !
Before We Leave has a charming concept but a terrible tutorial. It overwhelms you with endless text about basic stuff everyone already knows, then suddenly throws in complex new mechanics with almost no explanation. The pacing feels uneven—too much reading at the start, not enough guidance later. It ends up disjointed and frustrating instead of relaxing and engaging. The art style and atmosphere are great, but the onboarding really needs a complete rethink.
