Beer Bar

I found Beer Bar buried in my Steam library, so I must have picked it up through some bundle years ago. Here’s the bottom line: the game is boring, barely makes any sense, and honestly isn’t worth playing even if you got it for free. The basic idea is simple: fill beer mugs and serve them to the tables before the barrel counter reaches 100. Once it does, it’s essentially game over. Fair enough. The problem is that reaching the lower tables takes far too long. There is no real reason to serve them at all - you can simply alternate between the four upper tables and play much more efficiently. Any sense of strategy disappears almost immediately. The currency system is just as confusing. During a run, you collect brown stars, gold stars, and cash. However, the cash is completely useless. Only the brown and gold stars carry over between rounds, while the brown stars are apparently used in the shop to unlock two additional characters and two different bar backgrounds. For a game this repetitive and simplistic, the grind is absurd. Unlocking everything requires earning 2 × 2500 and 2 × 5000 brown stars, which takes far longer than the game deserves. Ultimately, Beer Bar is little more than a challenge for achievement hunters. It costs €0.99 and seems to be on sale constantly, so buying it will not exactly ruin you financially. It will also run on almost anything, probably even a toaster. But entertaining? Absolutely not.
