About
In Beat of Rebellion, you'll take the role of the Pulsedrifter, a young rebel who struggles to survive in a bleak future. Inside the cyberpunk metropolis of New Nexus, all forms of art are banned, artists are persecuted, and progress has suffocated the soul of humanity. Music is your ally, and the Beat is your weapon. Fight to bring back voice, color, and rhythm to a city cast into silence.
Beat of Rebellion blends a rhythmic game with the intensity of an isometric Hack & Slash. Each battle unfolds in arenas where music dictates timing: the closer you time your actions to the Beat, the stronger you become!
At the core of the combat system are Melodies: customizable combos where you assign the inputs, creating your own unique and rhythmicfighting style.
Journey through the Underbelly of New Nexus: three levels, each with its own environment and increasing BPM. Explore the Underbelly of New Nexus, overcome traps, hack gates, and dash over gaps while following the Beat. Follow the rhythm and dive into the city to meet its inhabitants and uncover its secrets.
A fresh concept with solid execution and great rhythm
I stumbled upon this game and was pleasantly surprised by the originality of the core idea and the overall visual style. The gameplay feels fluid, heavily supported by a soundtrack that serves a clever dual purpose: it’s not just background music, but a genuine tool to help the player stick to the beat. The story hooks you right from the start with a strong opening. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the mechanics, specifically, the smart design choices implemented to prevent players from breaking the game or cheesing encounters. The grading system after each arena feels rewarding and fits the theme perfectly. Despite the levels being somewhat compact, the level design is well-structured and uses the space effectively. Achievement hunters will find the trophy list well-balanced; it guides you through the game while offering a few genuinely tough challenges. Overall, the very aspects that make this game shine are also the areas where I see the most room for growth. There is excellent potential here, and I strongly encourage the developers to keep iterating on this solid foundation.
Recommended!
Hi-fi rush de pobre com cores feias
The UI for this game is honestly really bad, it gives mobile game quality perhaps even worse than that. The music is not memorable at all and is really hard to maintain the beat. The moving machines are very loud and obnoxious and somehow manage to be louder than the music itself. Plus the random cutoff of the moving machines is so random as well. The enemies attack every second which makes it very hard to get up close to be able to attack them, not even mentioning all the enemies attack you at the same time. I'll give some credit to the art; it looked very nice and well put together. Plus the game is also free so that is an upside as well. The game perhaps has some potential but I think it needs a lot of work because at the moment the quality is giving bad cyberpunk hi-fi rush dupe.
pretty fun laidback game, my only issue is there's a glitch whare you can get stuck on moving platforms that go up and down, other than that i absolutly loved this game.
An incredibly fun game with very unique ideas and gameplay mechanics. As of now, the game still has a couple flaws and a lot of room to improve, but the potential is there for sure. I had a lot of issues with the game stuttering, not registering inputs, and some graphical problems as well. That said, it wasn't too bothersome to keep me from wanting to play more, but the experience became unpleasant at times, and the game felt unfinished. There are multiple enemies and abilities to choose from and experiment with, although the balance of enemies' health could be re-adjusted since they usually die from your attacks before you can even use your ability. The songs are bangers and fit really well into the game's great aesthetic. And the art pieces here and there look sick too. For a free game though, this is more than I could've asked for.
A short and sweet hack n' slash that will have you tapping your feet instead of mashing your buttons. The art-style and level design work well to create the atmosphere of a large, grungy, futuristic city. I would have loved for a longer story and more levels. Overall, very solid execution for a first game - kudos to the devs!!
i suck ass at this game but this scratches the hack n slash itch i've been having since i played heart&slash
love it! It works great on the deck!
Fun game but there is an input lag on from the Playstation controller. It's kinda rough since you have to stay on beat. Also I'm currently stuck on the third level, destroyed both generators and if there's supposed to be a boss or a puzzle then it's not showing up.
