Скучная вначале, унылые локации сделанные на коленке вместе с параметрами персонажа. НО более интересная походу развития сюжета.
Here is some gameplay so you can decide for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrQ2DEVxANw Here are my opinions: PROS: + great concept capturing monsters and fighting with them. An under-tapped market + decent plot. could be better, but have seen much worse + this whole game was created by 1 person alone + team size is decent. wish it was a little bigger, but overall it's fair + pretty easy to pickup and understand the game. traditional RPG aspects, easy tutorial (which you are allowed to skip) + graphics are nice. some nice subtle touches that are impressive from a 1 dev game. CONS: - some of the areas, like the town, are kind of annoyingly large for no reason - no mini-map, so you're constantly running around and tapping M - requires 2 gameplay runs to get 100% achievements - not a large selection of monsters (total 64), where quite a few are just different versions of the game - very few monster skills. it's about the same 5-6 skills over and over from monster to monster - monsters level very slowly, and require a grind-fest (edit: the dev added a way to feed monsters to other monsters to speed it up. now it's pretty close to fair until last few levels) Overall I enjoy this game so far. Not sure if I would play it twice to get a couple extra achievements. I really hope the dev makes a BeastMancer 2, using some of the feedback he has received.

So it's basically Pokemon as a Grid-Based Combat game. It is pretty bare bones and maybe needs some extra features like a Beast Index to see what Beasts are still missing. Everything is somewhat okay, from character design to music, but nothing really stands out. The combat itself is probably the highlight and it is alright, I just wish the level cap wasn't so low (level 20). You can have up to 7 beasts, but you really want some tank types wich take 2 spaces of those 7. The story is okay, but nothing special. Pretty much a low to mid-tier game, very enjoyable if you like the Pokemon collection thing, but don't expect a masterpiece. Time to finish the game +all side quests and catching almost all beasts: 26,3 hours
monster taming and tactics. what a great combo
Beastmancer is a neat concept as a monster tamer with Heroes of Might and Magic style combat. Nearly ten years after release, however, it's especially rough to play through. You can fortunately speed up combat as an option, but it's a sparse, nearly barebones interface and environment to wander around in, you burn consumable items for a smaller risk to capture monsters, and it just isn't fun enough to play.
It's not a bad idea and I think for a one-man project this is actually fairly decent, however, I just cannot bring myself to recommend the game. Unfortunately I found the game rather grindy and the story rather uninteresting. Combat is smooth enough and graphics are okay if you like the Anime / cartoon style (I personally don't much like it). The music is actually pretty good. And as I said before, the general idea of the game isn't bad either, but whereas in King's bounty the leveling up, finding gear, getting better creatures etc. feels rather effortless, here it is very grindy and for me personally just not fun to play. Still I wish the dev all the best in the future, he seems to have a lot of potential - as does this game, though I doubt huge patches significantly changing everything will happen in the future.
Sort of a Pokemon style RPG where you capture monsters and use them to battle. Unlike Pokemon, the battles take place on a battle board with multiple creatures (except early in the game) where creatures get turns according to their initiative.. In addition your character can perform actions once per turn, which includes casting spells or using items. Outside of combat things are very straightforward with real-time movement, talking to characters, buying/selling items at stores and either attacking or trying to avoid creatures wandering around. I had fun with the game. It isn't up the standards of Pokemon, with fewer creature skills, no creature types, no evolution, poor grammar and a less polished story. The main problems with the game are very uneven balance and a much lower variance in creatures and abilities. Most creatures are basically useless with either few or very weak abilities. The early game balance is fine, but the battles are pretty lackluster as the creatures are weak and lack variance. Mid-game has the best balance and variance and the end-game you will be using only the handful of very powerful legendary (or maybe an odd rare creature). The end game became very easy because of these creatures as well as your powerful spells. That does change for the last few battles with them being pretty tough though. So I would recommend the game, as games of this nature are rare on the PC. It has it's rough edges for sure, so if you are picky it might not be for you though. It's not the best game, but I found it fun and enjoyed my time with it.
Beastmancer is a tactical creature tamer/collector game rpg. The plot is that you are a Beastmancer, a trainer of horrible monsters who are looked down upon and feared, that was invited to a Monster Tournament on a small island by a some sort of Prince. The story is fine, the music is fine, and the graphics are fine. I really liked the monster designs, they feel super original unlike the other Pokemon clones. My only problems are the gameplay, and the games as a whole. The Gameplay is kind of boring and doesn't feel that tactically. Melee in front, Range in back, and healing doesn't scale well, and becomes pretty useless near end game. I got to a part of the game where is almost soft-locked my game, just in case it happens to you, just name one of your monsters, gimme gimme KeyChurch. It's fun enough to recommend, but I wouldn't replay it, too grindy.
This game is pretty good. It's an independent game, which means there is some polish that would help the user interface a good bit, but the dynamics of the game are thought out well. It was well worth the money.
