About

Version 3.0 has completely new gameplay with awesome special abilities, two new maps, a unique Halloween event, and several new achievements. Due to the complete overhaul of the game, the leaderboards have been reset. If you were in the top 10 of the previous leaderboards for any of the maps, you will find your name permanently enshrined in the Hall Of Fame accessible through the main menu!
A Demo of the game is now available!
Although Beast Mode: Night of the Werewolf is not officially rated, its intended rating is Teen 13+ due to cartoon violence and crude humor.

Went into this with low expectations judging by the other reviews, and somehow I still managed to get disappointed. Granted it's not like I got robbed considering the game's a whopping $1 USD, it would've done better as a walking simulator with the kinds of graphics it sports than... Whatever this is. TL;DR: Looks pretty, handles like a turtle, I wouldn't play it but don't let that stop you from getting it if you're bored. Now, the detailed version of why I'm not about it: The controls are okay-ish, but I managed to get stuck on the tutorial screen because for some reason it doesn't let you pause and use the menu for anything (as in, it plain doesn't show up), not even to back out of it once you've gotten the information you need. I highly appreciate the onscreen indicator in the control setup, though, since it's an easy way of knowing what buttons you're setting and how much time you have to press one or more to map an action. I honestly wish more UE games had that feature, it could cut a lot of hassle. As for the game itself... It's what it markets itself as, but as low quality as possible (again, not blaming the price tag here). The animations are far from clean, to the point where it looks like you're doing a standing swipe even when you're in the middle of a dead sprint... Which itself LOOKS indistinguishable from running, even if it's objectively faster. As another review pointed out, you can simply run over the targets like a truck, though I'd consider the fact you aren't required to swipe at every small, high-as-a-kite target something of a mercy. There're no special killmoves, no actions besides barreling through the map at 80mph and occasionally flopping your tree trunk of an arm out to catch tie-dye stragglers. Music is kinda eh, in that it fits the game's spirit but isn't really impressive at all. I could just be spoiled, but when my best alternatives respectively range from the price of free (Wolf Riot) to $40 (Skyrim), it's hard to go in with set expectations. I understand this game's value is meant to be in camp, but most of that comes from the voice acting- the game itself barely puts any effort into it.
OK. You need to know exactly what you are getting with this game. Its very simple. You're a werewolf, you kill hippies. That's it. If that appeals to you you'll enjoy this game.
Edit: Dude came back five years later to fix the game with an update, respect ! Works perfectly on linux with proton Great game for less than a buck, for about 1h15min of gameplay if you're not in a hurry. Nice graphics and music, don't hesitate to support this small indie dev with your last cents, it doesn't even pay him for a coffee but still does support the intention. I recommand it, wasn't bored at all while playing it!
