Battle Riders

This is a really nice game for whenever you're bored and just want to have a bit of fun. The game is really rewarding and it feels awesome to wreck your enemies while at the same time it gets increasingly more challenging in the "career". I like playing it and even tho I got it for free, its deffinetly worth to 80 cents!

This is a first impressions write up due to not having played enough for an actual review. The main point I want to make is that it works on the Steam Deck. I couldn't get the controller to work in the menu screens, so I had to use my bluetooth mouse; however, I did not try adjusting the controls, so it may be possible. It feels and looks like a PS1, N64 era car combat game(though with higher res). So, if you're looking for a cheap game in that genre that does not take up much storage space, then this game will scratch that itch for a few minutes here and there. Gas Guzzlers Extreme is still my favorite by far.

Battle Riders Positives: + ok graphics + cool cars + parts and weapons upgrades + ok sound and music + ok handling + you get to blow ♥♥♥♥ up + almost bugfree Negatives: - gets boring after an hour of play - the cars feel exactly the same to drive - narrow and very boring tracks (acceptable in 1997, not in 2017) - very repetitive and monotonous, doing the same thing over and over - 18 tracks feels more like 3 different tracks (not exiting at all) - every mode feels the same, almost no variation at all - way to long and boring campaign and challenge series (10 -15 hours) Total Score: 4/10

Сокровище за свои деньги! За 30 рублей здесь есть всё необходимое для просто порядочной игры, в минимальном объёме уж точно (кроме сюжета, но и он не всегда нужен): - Автопарк - Режимы - Трассы - Карьера - Улучшения - Кастомизация - Даже несколько саундтреков, не все подходят под экшен, но разнообразие Отдельно мне понравилось само вождение, физика простая, аркадная, а камера динамичная. Из минусов могу только притянуть возможное однообразие и отсутствие настройки сложности, но так как нет сюжета, я бы не полагался на эту игру как на "500 часов геймплея", максимум иногда зайти расслабиться на 10-30 минут.
