Wasnt the game i thought it was. Iwas getting mixed up with compass games version. Its a pretty simple game. Probaly a mobile game i think. Not a great deal of depth to it. Not worth the price.
The game is very dynamic, like a blitz chess match, but at the same time very deep. I only play strategy games, and I keep asking myself how so many incompetent games survive on the market while games like this have been left to die. This game has incredible flow and playability. It’s true that it’s only in English, but if you convert the manual files and historical files to plain text you can translate them into any language, so anyone can play and, from inside the game, clear up any rules questions and read the historical background in their own language. It has a few changes compared to its predecessor, Battle of the Bulge, but it’s practically the same system. Playing both is like playing both fronts of World War II. There are still players who connect online to play: you just create two games, one with each side, and in a short time you’ll be playing. The same happens with Bulge. There’s a reason this game appeared on so many platforms: its gameplay really hooks fans of this kind of WW2 game. They should have kept producing other battles with this system and recreating the most important events of WW2. The original developers are gone, but the game has a new owner who focuses on other titles that will never offer the same dynamic gameplay this system has, which could still be improved and expanded. Don’t hesitate: buy it, you won’t regret it. Some critics may be right about certain flaws, but that doesn’t take away from the fun or from the undeniable value of the gameplay. Highly recommended
Absoluter Scheißdreck. Schlecht recherchiert, und absolut unspielbar.
These 3 WWII games by Shenandoah Studios (legendary game designer John Butterfield) are great. Excellent way to get your old school table top war game fix. Recommended.
It is definitely a fun little game to play with a cup of coffee in the morning, it is mostly a math game, however the AI cheats like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy if you play as the Axis, even if you have superior forces, the Allies will win. In a sense it is like Axis and Allies, there are two factions, sure, but if you play as one you are guaranteed to lose.
Uber fun.
Don't let the simple presentation fool you, it has real depth once you dig in. The map is genuinely great, and I love that each day comes with a little history lesson, so you're learning the actual context of the battle as you play, not just moving counters around. Using the real historical units adds a nice layer of authenticity too. Once again it helps give you a good feel for the actual battle. The Steam achievements are a fun bonus goal to chase alongside the main campaign; gives you a reason to replay and try different approaches. A number of other hex strategy games don't which I think is a shame.(Looking at you Decisive Campaign Ardennes Offensive) Only gripe is the asking price feels a touch high for what it i. I'd say wait for a sale if you're on the fence. But if you're into WWII strategy games and want something that's easy to pick up but rewards deeper study, this delivers.
Very good game. Nice climate. Great Graphic.
