This game is a PoS, nothing works right, the controllers are partial mapped, keyboard partial so you keep having to push random buttons to figure out whats next, sound effects are missing for half the game. Its clear the developer figured he was tired of this project and just threw whatever rough pre-alpha gameplay he had together into a broken game where whatever plot was being built up was also discarded. It isn't worth your time unless you played the other two and want to be disappointed. DO NOT RECOMMEND I don't even think the game is beatable because as far as I can tell there is no reload button in the shooting stage
After beating the 2nd game I had the thought that this was going to be a good game. And, I guess for the most part, it was because of how random it was, it's just, I dunno, it's not as good as the others. I liked the randomness of the story. The art is nice and unique. The music is really really good. There are a few different types of short 3d games within this game that are tied to the story and change up the feeling for the game for a short amount of time which is nice. The story is still not that great. You do the same things as the last games where you do fetch quests for your story while the main plot is saving some girl and getting your car fixed so that you can leave town. I personally didn't like how it ended. Sure, I love how random the story is but it's just not very good. I didn't feel satisfied with how it ended and nothing makes sense. The writing is still bad. Almost all the characters say one line of dialogue that doesn't mean anything and doesn't lead up or close their story like that one guy who's the ship captain but in love with some witch. Everyone from the last game are just placed in this new level and it feels cheap. Like, why are they here? Tons of grammar mistakes and broken english. I remember one part in particular where he says that he needs to look for "him" when he should actually be saying "her." If you've already played the games before this then you already know how bad the english is this series. When you do certain things in the world that is correlated to the story, the NPC's still say the same thing like nothing happened. This kind of thing happened in the second game too... I still hate it when the main character or characters in the game would say things like “You are a new character in this episode, aren’t you?” or “I think the video game script says that I need to do this” or something. I find dialogue that is directly talking to the player to be bad writing and immersion breaking. There is a certain part of the game where the game tells you to press spacebar really fast. I have some form of arthritis and I know I shouldn't be doing it and contemplated refunding the game. I tried to beat it anyways because I wanted to see where the story would go and still couldn't do it. After a little bit the spacebar game ends and the dev then calls the player an idiot for doing it... I’m glad the spacebar game wasn’t actually necessary to progress through the game, though. I do however think that tricking the player into doing something and then calling them an idiot is uncalled for and that's when I seriously considered refunding the game because I personally don't like playing games by bad people or people would get a laugh from their bad joke. I also considered refunding because I was still below 2 hrs. I ended up just continuing to play the game because this is the final game of this series and who knows, the game could get better. At the computer part I went to get the coin on the left side of the screen and the game flipped my screen. I closed the game and the desktop screen is also flipped. The game messed with my screen... Even after shutdown, the screen is still flipped. Had to go into personalize settings to fix it. Collisions are still trash and I find to be unacceptable at this point, especially since we're in the 3rd game. NPC's appearing under objects. Like wow, are you serious? In a main level the npc's are below objects in the game? Was this game even tested? The collisions are just really bad throughout the game. They've always been bad but in the 3rd game, they are absolutely worse. Made me want to refund from the start because I don't want to play a game with little care but it's a unique game so I tried to give it a pass because I wanted to know if the story would get better. I don't like being able to walk on top and under assets in the game. Nor being able on top of npcs. Some sprites still have some kind of vertical line around them that is clearly visible when they stand and move. Lack of care in the product. I still don't like being able to walk above the top wall on the bottom of the screen while in a room or something. The 3d car game is different and alright. It's just that when you flip over you have to restart the entire thing all over again. The shooting game sucks. I'll say it. It's hard and the game doesn’t give you a control scheme. You just play it and hope for the best but at least you have infinite tries which is really good actually. I just got really frustrated because it was just copy and paste movements of the enemies on the screen for a couple of minutes. The game itself was also quite hard because you needed to hit the enemies in their center area. Even the collision of 3d objects in the background collided with each other. Once you figure out the control scheme, it's just horrible to try and play. I was begging for the ability to use a mouse. The control scheme in general for this game is nowhere to be seen. You just have to figure it out for yourself and that sucks because you are forced to use the blue fire for a section of the game and you can't switch to it in the menu anymore. There some kind of guy who says that he was lying about some code that you had to do to unlock the minigame in the last game and that the actual code in something else. I never got the minigames and remembering the code to be able to play the minigame from the last game is too hard. I believe I did try and failed at doing it though. I don't like it when games make you jump through hoops to play something. I guess it's only for true hardcore players I guess but I'm never playing this game again so I dunno. Why put a hard to unlock minigame in a game that not a lot of people would play? I didn't like the little head things that you could collect. I missed one but it's literally just walk around each level and hope a box appears on your head so that you can know if you found it because it's invisible. A little sprite work could have helped. So yeah, I'm just disappointed in the game. I wanted to like it but I can't. There's a lot of interesting ideas here but I can't dismiss all the flaws and the amount of times the game made me angry. More flaws than good this time around and I can't just give those a pass anymore. I wouldn't recommend this game to my friends and so I can't recommend to anyone.
It seems like this is where the developer just gave up. It starts with a weird FMV section with no real idea of what you're supposed to do, followed by a puzzle with poor feedback, THE WORST driving section I've ever played, and ends with a Rail Shooter section that you need to play with a keyboard; no mouse. Same delayed controls, too. The renegade humor that I'd loved appears in smaller doses, too, and you spend more time than ever wandering around to short music loops wondering which identical object is the one you're supposed to interact with. Even the
psychedelic alien skate park
was a chore to get through, and it didn't even have any minigames. It had more of those strangely adorable dancing bunny girls, so that's a plus, but its few benefits aren't enough to save it. A sad ending to a series that had so much potential.
As other people have noted, this game is basically unplayable. It's buggy, the controls are unfinished and make no sense, you have to trial and error your keyboard constantly. The puzzle design is basically nonsense; one of the very first puzzles in the game is confusing to the point that I, and the only two let's players I could find on youtube, solved it on accident and left the level totally unfulfilled. And yet... it's magical. It's so insane that only this developer could have possibly made this. The awful, awful translation, the random artistic decisions, the gameplay that seems designed to get you to stop playing, the story writing that mocks you for ever caring about it, everything comes together to this completely bizarre, absolutely unreplaceable mess. If you value seeing something you could never see anything else it might be worth it for you, too.
Looks like I'm the first reviewer... well. If you're here, you probably completed last 2 episodes, if not - you can. Review will apply to all 3 episodes. The game is something else. It almost feels like every single decision in game design is made to make you hate yourself playing it, or maybe developer hates you? :) It almost feels like it's a guide on how not to make games, but something about it makes it stand out. I completed all 3 and it was a good experience overall. Very unintuitive, confusing, but alright. Controller support is half-broken (some interactions only work with Space button or don't work at all), ultrawide support is also broken, any monitor above 60 FPS also breaks the game, so make sure to adjust your graphics card settings to 60 if you wanna play. English dialogues have a lot of grammatical errors. In previous episodes you can get stuck because game forces you to go to dev site that's been down for a code to go to walrus theater, so you have to google it. Another thing is you have to play second episode during day and night in real life, so you have to reset your Windows clock and restart to progress or go to sleep in the hotel which wasn't told nowhere. If you flip golf cart in third episode, there's no way to put it back on wheels without restarting it and the way it drives is sooooooooo annoying. If you know all of this it should save you tons of time and you can actually enjoy the game. Try Lakeview Valley afterwards for a better experience :)
After beating the two first episodes I just didn't know what to expect, I was at least reasonably sure that I wouldn't be that surprised. But I was wrong. Don't know how, but despite the bit confusing controls at the begining, this game is still full of surprises. Art and music are, again, superb, and the story feels fresh and engaging from start to finish. Is the finishing touch to an unforgettable experience: 5/7 perfect score, would buy it again.
I loved playing the first two episodes of Baobabs Mausoleum, and this episode 3 perfectly captures the essence of the first one. We find ourselves with chapters that will reveal the final stories of Watracio Walpurgis. The puzzles are as crazy as ever and full of surprises. I make special mention to the 3D world and the Deep Web part, a very funny nonsense that any player should try. It's a fun, short game that will surprise you if you like the indie genre and good pixel art.
I cannot even get the controls to work correctly and the game feels like a nightmare of trial and error and poorly executed ideas. The style and music might entice you to buy into this series but honestly, it's been a chore to play from start to finish, and Ep. 3 is absolutely impossible and borderline unplayable. I bought Ep. 3 just so I could see if the story went anywhere interesting, but man - life is too short to waste on this episode. By the way, probably about 3/4 of the time I have logged on this game was spent either searching in vain for videos or guides from anyone who knew how to play the darn thing, and then when I let the game sit idle while I did other things that were not a complete waste of my time.
Es un juego extraño y bizarro, sobre todo en sus comienzos, pero la historia resulta interesante y atractiva.
