Guitar Hero в VR исполнении! =) Механика реализована круто, особенно на гитаре. Надеюсь разработчики и дальше будут добавлять новые треки, не хватает конечно по тяжелее музыки, например что то наподобие Amon Amarth - Cry Of The Black Birds, в целом все отлично, рекомендую к покупке.
Band Space, developed by Smartmelon Games and published by Fast Travel Games, is a virtual reality rhythm experience that captures the spirit of performing in a live band with friends. Instead of presenting rhythm gameplay through abstract notes or static environments, it places players directly on a stage under bright lights, facing an energetic crowd, surrounded by the sounds and sensations of live performance. The premise is simple but compelling: players choose from four instruments—guitar, bass, drums, or keyboard—and perform songs either solo or with up to three other players in multiplayer mode. Each role has been designed to provide a distinct perspective on performance, whether it’s hammering out drum beats, striking rhythmic chords on the guitar, or weaving melodic runs across the keyboard. The sense of presence that VR provides makes this experience far more immersive than a traditional rhythm game could ever hope to achieve. The gameplay system in Band Space takes inspiration from the legacy of rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band while adapting the concept for virtual reality’s unique physicality. The guitar and bass use intuitive strumming and fret-slide motions, allowing players to mimic real playing without requiring prior musical experience. The drum kit, while simplified, emphasizes timing and rhythm precision, and the keyboard introduces spatial awareness as players reach for virtual keys across a broader range. Each instrument offers its own learning curve, and mastering one provides a sense of satisfaction similar to learning a real skill. The tactile engagement of strumming or striking notes in time with the music makes the experience feel more organic than button pressing on a plastic controller. Combined with the positional tracking of VR, every performance feels active, expressive, and personal. Band Space’s environments are designed to enhance that feeling of performance. The game features multiple stage venues, from small clubs with intimate lighting to massive outdoor arenas filled with cheering fans. The visual effects adapt dynamically to your performance, with lighting, camera angles, and stage visuals responding to the flow of the song. These touches reinforce the illusion of being part of a live show, especially in multiplayer sessions where you can look over and see your bandmates performing beside you in real time. The game’s visual style doesn’t aim for realism but for vibrancy and clarity, ensuring that cues remain readable while maintaining a concert-like spectacle. The audio design also excels—crowd reactions rise and fall with the music, and the sense of space in the sound mix gives the impression of performing in a true venue rather than an isolated practice space. Where Band Space shines brightest is in its multiplayer. Playing alone can be enjoyable, but sharing the stage with friends transforms the experience into something special. Coordination becomes key, and every successful performance feels like a shared accomplishment. Whether you are the drummer keeping time or the lead guitarist stealing the spotlight during a solo, there’s a tangible camaraderie that few VR games replicate so effectively. Communication and synchronization between players matter just as much as skill, and the result is an experience that captures the joy of musical collaboration rather than pure competition. The cooperative design reinforces the idea that this isn’t just a rhythm game—it’s a simulation of being in a real band, with all the energy, teamwork, and chaos that entails. Despite its many strengths, Band Space is not without flaws. Some instruments feel more polished than others; the guitar and bass are responsive and satisfying, but the drums lack a strong physical presence, making them feel a little disconnected compared to real or even arcade-style drumming experiences. The keyboard, while conceptually interesting, can feel slightly awkward due to the challenges of accurately gauging hand position in VR space. Another common criticism is the limited initial track list. At launch, the game featured a modest number of songs from independent artists rather than major licensed hits, which can reduce its mainstream appeal. However, the inclusion of Mod.io integration allows players to add custom songs for solo play, offering a foundation for community-driven expansion. Unfortunately, multiplayer does not yet support custom tracks, meaning online sessions are limited to the base song list, which somewhat restricts long-term variety. Performance and technical design are solid overall. The game runs smoothly across supported VR headsets, including Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Meta Quest devices via PC link. Motion tracking feels accurate, and latency is minimal, ensuring that rhythm gameplay remains satisfying. The game also makes good use of room-scale and standing modes, giving players freedom to move around the stage without demanding excessive physical space. However, some aspects of stage interaction remain superficial—players cannot fully roam the environment or interact with instruments beyond their core mechanics, and audience engagement is largely visual rather than reactive. Still, the attention to lighting, stage detail, and audio feedback helps maintain immersion throughout each performance. In its current form, Band Space feels like a strong foundation for something potentially greater. It succeeds at capturing the thrill of performing music in VR and offers an enjoyable, physically engaging experience that is best shared with friends. Its shortcomings—chiefly the limited track selection, uneven instrument feel, and modest progression systems—are noticeable but not deal-breaking. What it lacks in depth, it compensates for with energy, accessibility, and charm. It’s a game designed to bring people together in a shared creative space, offering moments of genuine fun and connection. With future updates, more tracks, and refined mechanics, it has the potential to become a flagship title in the VR rhythm genre. Ultimately, Band Space represents an exciting evolution of the rhythm game formula. It takes the social, performative essence of classic band games and transplants it into the immersive world of virtual reality, letting players truly step onto the stage and feel the spotlight. For VR enthusiasts, especially those who miss the collaborative joy of older music games, this title delivers an engaging and joyful experience that celebrates music, teamwork, and performance. It might not yet achieve the polish or content scale of its predecessors, but its ambition and spirit make it a worthy addition to any VR music lover’s library—a game that captures not just the rhythm of music, but the shared thrill of making it together. Now this is the kind of game I've been waiting for! It's been a long time coming for a new Living Room Band Experience game! This scratches that itch quite nice. I would just ask for some optimizations on the hit box for the target zone for the instruments. Otherwise superb!
