Game feels bugged an unfinished. At lower difficulty levels its absurdly easy and at higher difficulties its near impossible. Fielding is a mess and pitching is hard and it doesn't seem to matter what you do. They spit out a game that looks like backyard baseball for the money and didn't care to make it playable.

I like the game, the graphics are updated and modern, but still cute and reminiscent of the original/older games. There are some bugs, but I haven't had anything major happen during gameplay that completely altered my experience - I'm still having fun playing. One thing I wish for is a mercy-rule option that can be toggled on or off. I know I can change the difficulty around, but I think this could be a fun way to change the experience for a shorter game, if needed. The game gets a little boring when you are destroying the CPU and it takes a long time for the AI to get you out and progress the timeline of the game. Currently playing on a 3-inning setting because my attention span deteriorates when the game takes too long to progress. I'm sure DLC is coming in the future, but the option to add professional players to your teams would be fun again too. 4.5/5 stars for me. <3

god, the nostalgia didn't steer me wrong with this one. they are taking my childhood and bringing it into my adult hood! I am so glad that the series of coincidences that needed to happen happened to bring this gem into the modern age

Honestly this is a fun version. First game played, it's a bit off from the original that I remember. Extra base hits seem almost impossible. Runner going to second on most hits to the outfield gets thrown out too frequently. Maybe playing with errors off was the trick that changed all that? I remember being able to hit nonstop triples and inside the park home runs with Pete Wheeler but in this I only managed one double out of dozens of balls hit deep in the gaps. Pitching maxed on Maria Luna and I pitched half the game with empty juice. Got the special to fill it once. I think pitch count was about 60 for 9 innings and I only threw 3 fastballs. Rest were hooks and some changeups. Some balancing in my opinion needs to happen... I'd love to see them tweak it back to that Vanilla OG '97 feeling. All in all.. good fun. Scratches that tiny nostalgia itch with a new look. Not recommending unless it's on a fire sale or you work for a living and 40 bucks isn't a ton of money to you.
