Backyard Baseball

This game is very fun and easily worth the money. Despite the game having been out for a few days there are relatively very few bugs and the ones that there are matter very little. From a viewer perspective, the game can seem as if it wouldn't be worth it; however, that is not the case as actually playing it is wayyyy more fun that watching (all though personally i enjoy that as well). Its like the difference between eating really good food and watching someone eat really good food.

I really love this, I feel so nostalgic. My wish is that there are more skintones, hair colors (such as similar to other kids like Gretchen, Kimmy etc.), hairstyles, clothes, accessories, etc. but I imagine that is planned. Also, you can't give both a first and last name to custom kids, it would be nice for them to match the other kids in the list. Finally, I don't know if the CPU is allowed to pick Pros by default because I haven't unlocked any yet, but it would be nice to be able to disable them so you can only play with the kids. Also, will there be mod support?

I never got the chance to play the original back in the '90s, so I'm coming into this remake with fresh eyes and I've been having a blast. The bat contact feels incredibly satisfying. Every clean hit has that crisp feedback that makes you want to keep playing. The character animations are full of personality, and the goofy voice lines had me laughing more than I expected. Even without the nostalgia factor, this stands well on its own as a fun arcade baseball game. If this is what made the original so memorable, I can definitely see why people loved it.

Steam reviewers are overreacting to the current state of the game (no surprises there -- this same place panned GTA5, RDR2, Elden Ring, etc.). A couple of notes after having played one game: 1. The point-and-click fielding mechanics are not as simple as they were in 1998, but fielders are controllable via WASD and this makes it much more fluid. 2. There are some issues with runners tagging up. Specifically, I hit a pop-up straight above home plate and my third base runner came halfway home and refused to head back to third despite me clicking wildly, which gave the CPU an easy double play. These issues should be resolved. 3. Hitting is fine. A lot of reviews here seem to point out the "difficulty" in hitting without the pitch assist shadow. News flash: You are not supposed to be a hitting god after playing a game for 1 day. Give yourself time to learn the system. The ball's shadow helps a lot in determining when the ball will cross the plate, and you can use that to determine where left & right hooks will land. Apart from those things -- beautiful remake. Just as charming as the original from 1998. I believe the game will be superb after one or two patches.

I often asked, what year would it be when a new Backyard Sports game would release. They certainly delivered on this one. This is Backyard Sports in 3D done right.

Game is fun hope they release more legend characters at some point and color schemes for teams. Gameplay is awesome.

So fun playing this game. i like the style. Can't wait for big update and Multiplayer stuff PLEASE MORE BYB Games remake.. especially SOCCER. please!!
