I've put many hours into this game and I've loved every second of it! Super fun and runs great on my 5 year old MacBook. Highly recommend this for anyone who's looking for a nostalgic kick or wants a vibrant/light-hearted sports game in their library.
BACKYARDYARD SPORTS DID IT AGAIN! like all ways they make the BEST games I ever played in my life SO FUN SHOULD BUY!
Well, I was hoping nostalgia would be enough to justify the price, but it's really not there. This is just a bad remastered version of '05. The gameplay is so boring after a few games. Fielding and pitching is so laborious and no effort was made to make it feel decent. The commentating is really bad and half the time it actually doesn't make sense. I really wanted to love this game and if I paid $15 for it I wouldn't be writing a review, but for $40 it's just pure ass.

i play the baseball, I yell at chlidren, this is a good game.
This remake captures the charm of the original Backyard Baseball perfectly. The characters, art style, music, and overall atmosphere feel authentic, and the batting is fun and easy to pick up. It's a great nostalgia trip while still being enjoyable for new players. That said, the game could use more polish. Fielding is the biggest issue—defenders react slowly, switching players can feel clunky, and the AI occasionally makes questionable decisions. There are also a few rough edges that make the gameplay feel less refined than it should. Despite its flaws, the foundation is solid, and it's clear the developers care about the series. If they continue improving the fielding, AI, and overall polish through updates, this could easily become the definitive Backyard Baseball experience. A fun and faithful revival that's worth recommending, especially if you're a fan of the originals.

Everytime sydney walks up she just knows sunny day is gonna play her in face for the 1000th time calling her ashley. Anyways good game love the anti scalpers policy so people can't wait outside the treehouse to buy all of the baseball cards to resell!
Characters and skin look like BYB, but the gameplay needs work. - The field feels bigger or the fact the kids can't even throw the distance of a basepath (what's with the high arch on the throws? Is this basketball?) - As soon as the ball is hit and the game switches to fielding, the kid you're controlling in the field doesn't automatically move towards the ball - you literally have to know exactly which kid is selected and move them preemptively towards the ball if you want any chance of catching it. Again this is exacerbated by the larger feel of the field. - Player on 1st base doesn't auto advance to 2nd when the batter makes a hit. - If a ball is hit into the outfield between two outfielders, the outfielders will each alternate turns stepping towards the ball and stopping. Computer fielding looks like it works as intended, but the player's team is severely handicapped
