Backpack Raiders is a fun twist on the survivors formula. The combat is satisfying, the backpack mechanics are surprisingly addictive, and I spent far too long optimizing my inventory for the perfect build. The art style is charming while still having a bit of grit and personality. My only real criticism is that I wanted more—more items, more builds, and more excuses to keep tinkering with my backpack. Easy recommendation.
Fun game so far, it has very unique inventory management mechanics.
I love supporting indie devs. I recognise the hard work and sacrifice that goes into making a game. But respect has to be earned by bringing something new to the table. Sadly, this game is a straightup clone of both Brotato and Backpack Battles, but does nothing to improve on either of those, giving no reason to play this instead of those superior titles. Mashing those two games together doesn't work for me. Brotato is addictive partly because of its fast pacing. You barely need to spend a minute in the shop between waves, whereas here, the action grinds to a halt so that you can spend 10 minutes tediously rearranging your backpack. The build variety also isn't there, with only 9 base weapons to choose from, and a very limited number of meaningful customisations to be made. There is a meta progression system of sorts, in the form of building up your base between battles (a la Darkest Dungeon), but it lacks any depth. I couldn't bring myself to care about it. If the devs can flesh this game out more, it may be worth another look, but right now it's a hard no from me.
REALLY REALLY GOOD mix of bullet heaven and inventory management! I recorded my playthrough of the demo and was offered a copy to playtest it to help with bug testing and then I bought my own a copy to support WOLLEMGAMES I TRUST THE VISION WHAT I LOVE

Inventory management feels really good, with easy to move pieces and clear visual markers for when items are effecting/buffing each other
Large variety of items in every category and upgrades for most, and the pool doesn't feel diluted when I was rolling for items
The bullet heaven combat itself feels really good and there's both manual-aim and auto-aim that you can adjust as you play to suit your preference even if that preference is changing
The meta-scaling feels more like building variety into the game and gives you some stat boosts for the harder difficulties (or if you want an easier time) rather than requirements to make the game fun. You can also choose not to use them at any point in the game.
The character variety doesn't limit you to specific items, but does give you individual bags that may boost certain items. It's great that it doesn't restrict the pool or variety, but still adds diverse perks to add more variety to the gameplay. This also has the bonus of not restricting you to specific items for your run in case you don't get the items you need.
The harder difficulties (wanted levels) feel really good by letting you choose what negatives you want to scale. While it does ultimately force you to pick negatives you might not if you want to play at the highest difficulties, it's a great way to ease you out of your comfort zone without it becoming overwhelming. The rewards also add more perks and items and add a base supplies boost.
The base-building mechanics also have inventory management-like mechanics, where different buildings get benefits depending on how they're organized and what they're next to
Achievements unlock even more weapon variety by letting you pick two different perks for those items to focus on for that run. It doesn't dilute the pool since you choose which perk to use for that run (or no perk at all), so it's a great way to experiment without struggling to find that specific bonus. インベントリ整理+VSライク。 相乗効果で非常に楽しい。おすすめ。
June 4, 2026 - I like being able to try different combinations and layouts to get different synergies and effects. Sometimes the saw blade will hide AOE or enemies which can be a pain. Sometimes RNG won't give you what you really want. The shop lets you lock choices for next time. Weapons can be merged to upgrade. Items can be saved to swap out later. Some bags have different perks. The very best part is that you can move and change out not just items but the bag pieces every time you're at the shop. Having the freedom to not only replace bags, but to change where they're located makes this game stand out. Runs are fun, quick, and have that "just one more" feeling. 5.4 hours went by before I even noticed!
Lots of possibilities here when it comes to customizing builds, really love how creative you can get with applying modifiers on weapons. The item organization adds a pretty neat layer to the gameplay, I'm excited for them to keep adding new gear we can play around with. Definitely worth checking out!
This is a blast to play, and better than a lot of the inventory-management survivor-likes (more a Brotato-like, but you get it. Potato...Tomato) that have come out recently. If you like Deadly Days: Roadtrip or Nimrods (or Terra Tech Legions and DRG: Survivor for that matter) you'll likely enjoy this. Unlike some Backpack games, you don't exhaust all your build options in only a few runs. Partly due to the bags themselves having stat effecting build potential beyond just holding gear, and the Meta progress has an arrangement aspect to it that's somewhat similar to Ball x Pit, which is a real nice touch. And if the devs add a new character or two and a dozen or so pieces of gear a few times a year, this could be one of those titles that you keep coming back to long after you've finished the main game just to unlock some new equipment and try out some new builds. Looking forward to seeing everyone's busted builds in the near future once it starts making the rounds on YouTube. Overall a well made and fun to play game with some novel ideas. Worth the asking price even if it's not on sale.
What a game! Very addictive, can't stop playing it!
