About
Play as Nate, an unemployed failson with nothing going for him, until one day he discovers a power he never knew he had… putting one foot in front of the other.
Explore a world shrouded in mist, one step at a time. Hike the serene mountains by placing each footstep yourself, in original physics-based gameplay from the minds behind Ape Out and Getting Over It. Take in the sights, fall in love with the local fauna, and try to find meaning in a wasted life.
Get ready to fall for Nate, in Baby Steps, a literal walking simulator.

Getting Over Itと違って見守ってくれるナレーターがいなくてさみしい。 最初の頃は歩いてるだけでも地面を足で連続パリィしてるような爽快感があったが、その気持ちよさ一本でプレイするには全体の尺が長過ぎる。
I give this game a 3.5/5 donkeys Its a fun game when its being fair to you the player , especially early on, but past mid game, some things started to become more and more noticeable that eroded my enjoyment of this game, like clearly flat surfaces having curved surfaces below which cause Nate to slip even when standing normally or hitboxes on certain items that are clearly too large and intentionally made in a certain way to cause you fail what you are attempting. Besides these gripes rest of the game was a blast to play and Moose is a real one. Play this game if you get a chance.
There are some wonderful things about Baby Steps. The concept, the improved script, the physics, the strange world, are all very well done. However, the lack of player progression is a huge missed opportunity. While you explore the world, and while you eventually get better at playing the game, the game doesn't progress mechanically for you. That means, there are no unlocks, no character development, no way of experiencing a game arc. Over the decades we've all learned the value of game arcs. That is to say, as we play, the game gets harder and at the same time, we get stronger. It's in that "we get stronger" part where a player feels they have some agency and a sense of accomplishment. Gone are the days of brutal arcade games that lack this arc - they have evolved out of our gaming ecosystem. Baby Steps seems to be an exception to that evolution and it holds it back from being a good game. Do I still have a masochistic tendency to return to this game? Yes, I do. Although, I'm not totally sure why. It definitely has charm, but I can't recommend it to others when I fear most people will find the lack of progression intolerable.
fun good story
this game taught me how to finally walk irl
The character slides way too much like he's dramatic about it. The game is extremely unforgiving when you make a mistake. The developers made this game just for pure rage bait. I'm fine with punishments for your mistakes but this is excessive. If you want to keep your sanity intact, then don't play this game.
very good
