I don't love puzzle games, but this is just undeniably great. Definitely a "get stuck, take a break, come back, still be stuck, take a break for a year, come back, still be stuck, take a break, come back, figure it out" kind of experience for some of these puzzles, but you always have lots of options to work on so you're rarely *completely* stuck (until you are).
This is one of the most challenging puzzle games I've ever played, and the great part is that most of the challenge comes from it's design and mechanics. You rarely feel confused as much as you do curious, and thinking about what a puzzle is trying to "tell you" is equally as important as considering every literal possibility.

Baba is by far one of my favorite puzzle games on Steam, not only due its incredibly charming art and great music, but because its one of the most unique sokoban (box pushing) games around. The mechanics are simple: you string nouns, verbs and conjunctions together and they rewrite the rules of the stage. Because of that, most stages don't have a fixed solution. Even though using the words is the "obvious" solution, there are several other mechanics they expect the player to abuse, such as using the words to push stuff away, creating virtual immortality by having yourself inside yourself, duplicating stuff by abusing programming logic, even altering reality itself when it suits you. The game starts easy, then gradually ramps up until it becomes aneurism-giving hard. Later levels are basically troll/kaizo tier, expecting you to known the game inside-out to abuse every quirk you can think of. And that is without talking about the secret/meta levels that require you to complete levels in insane ways to alterate the map system itself, which you can then solve (yes, solve the map system itself) to access even harder levels, like a matryoshka doll of pure madness and box pushing. Really, I can't elaborate how difficulty the levels get. If you don't use a hint guide, you are looking at spending several hours to finish later worlds. The artwork is charming, hiding how deep this game can go. Every tile is made so you can't confuse stuff, so extra points for visual clarity. The music is also great, it surely has an unique style that I started to call "Baba Music" ever since. And best of all: its very cheap. I have no regrets on paying full price for this game during release. I surely would get the Baba plushie if the shipping cost wasn't 3x the price of the plushie.
最好的puzzle game之一。规则多变而有趣,每一关都是一套新规则。难度曲线前期缓后期陡,轻度玩家和硬核玩家都能享受其中。
'BABA IS YOU, BABA IS ME, BABA IS WIN, BABA IS DEATH, BABA IS BABA, BABA IS RED, BABA IS GOD, BABA IS EVERYWHERE, BABA IS NONE.' 'Seriously, who is Baba?' Before you play Baba Is You, erase all that you know of the world, all the logic, all the history, all the laws of physics, everything. None of that matters; they are useless, because right here in Babaland nothing matters except to WIN, but how do you do that? Make up new rules, think outside of the box, and do things in a set of trial-and-error orders. This isn't a game that can easily be completed in a couple of days. Some puzzles may have you stuck for days before you finally find the light switch through the dark mist. One rule of advantage: don't focus entirely on beating it. A bit contradicting to say this now, I know. But if you want to have a healthy relationship with the game, see it as a tool to challenge your brain by bending rules to your will, discover solutions and to have fun.
그냥 기초맵만 깨는걸 추천 드립니다 그 이상 했다간 자폐증 생길 수도 있음
I first played this in a show case in 2019, couldn't wait for it to be released. This is the most rage inducing fun game i have every played. I feel extremely stupid every level, especially when the solution is so simple.
Baba Is You, kuralları değiştirme fikrini oynanışın merkezine yerleştiren son derece özgün bir bulmaca oyunu. Bölümlerdeki kelimeleri hareket ettirerek yalnızca nesneleri değil, oyunun kurallarını da değiştirebiliyorsunuz. "BABA IS YOU" veya "FLAG IS WIN" gibi cümleleri yeniden kurarak bulmacaların çözümüne ulaşmaya çalışıyorsunuz. Oyun, her dünyada yeni kurallar ekleyerek kendini sürekli yeniliyor.
I started to despise the game after level 5, it should've stopped there.
Finished and completed the whole game. First few worlds are enjoyable but then becomes massively difficult for no reason (and with no hint system without mods, you either have to spend 3 hours on each level, look up hints with outside resources or just look up the solution). The level names are completely unrelated to the solution 99% of the time, why aren't they used as a hint? The game became unenjoyable after level 5. It's such a shame too because the puzzles after you beat the main world is very cool.
One of the last main levels, you get to use the 'Level' tag, meaning you can eventually escape the confines of the main world. Travelling to secret levels and entire worlds which are a puzzle themselves which is actually really cool, but this is only after you slog a lot of levels which are, let's be honest, a lot harder for no reason.
and b4 people say "skill issue duuuh just get better just spend 10 hours on a single level you'll figure it out", puzzle games are inherently flawed for where looking up the solution is just straight up less time-consuming compared to other genres. I'd rather just get the game over-and-done with the money I spent on it once I no longer enjoy it. The community of it is very arrogant too if you DARE look up a solution for a level you just can't be bothered solving. The game isn't above you, you're above the game. The biggest flaw of this game is that most of the solutions or info you learn from a level never applies to others, meaning that "learning the game" is kind of pointless. Every solution is restricted to that singular level. The info you learn from previous levels either won't apply or suddenly there's a new rule that prevents it. It's not fun having to re-learn the whole formula for a game about being literal with rules. This game is in desperate need of an in-game hint system, even the developer said they were going to add it, but considering they recently made their last update to the game, it's definitely not coming any time soon. If you enjoy this type of game where you bang your head across the wall for 80% of levels for a solution that sometimes doesn't make sense to anyone BUT the developer? Go wild. Some of the user-made levels are pretty cool though. I atleast enjoyed my time with worlds 1,2, 3, 4. Also the game is too long, it's bloated with a lot of levels which is fine, but since some levels expect you to spend upwards of an hour or more on it. Yeah I'd rather just get the game done atp.
