Aveyond 4: Shadow of the Mist

The entire Aveyond series is wonderful well written, thought out and composed. I have completely enjoyed all of their games. This is what others in this class of games should aspire to be like.

I've been following Aveyond since Rhen's Quest came out. I'll be honest, I was a little resistant to playing Shadow of the Mist because I wasn't entirely fond of the slight changes to the anime-style faces the game series has maintained since the beginning. I did like the change in pace from who the central characters were. It's not often that you see games like these where you play as the villains, but this one executed the idea of a redemption arc well. Overall, I really enjoyed it and may play it again as I have with all of the other Aveyond games.

Very fun adventure game.

A masterpiece, many years of games in the making. Every mechanic and level is so wonderfully designed and balanced. The dialogue is the wittiest slapstick writing I think I've ever seen from an RPG Maker style game. Everything just blends so harmoniously. Well done devs

The game is very consistent on the quest progress. There's subtle clues that you can use to backtrack quest efficiently and proper teleportation system in the world map that is not a hassle to go around.

Still the best game I've ever played, just like other games of its series. Never stopped impressing me.

If you love turn-based RPG games, you'll love this. This is one of my favorites. Love the humor!!! Would love to see more RPGs like this!

Great game, played this before and am replaying again its so much fun, lots of quest and things to find and do

Finished Aveyond 4: Shadow of the Mist. A good RPG maker game in the style of the previous 3 games. This time focused on Boyle, a reluctant retired villain forced into saving the world (and his minion Fang). Little grinding required as long as you don’t avoid all enemies and the sidequests are ok-to-good. Includes both fairly simple quests and multipart quests that start near the beginning of the game and complete later; there are also some unmarked quests focused on the player noting NPC speech and remembering to fetch them certain items or go certain places. A bit too much backtracking with only moderate movement speeds and no player maps although the different zones / maps are simple enough that you don’t get lost.

Great plot and maps, nice to see the Aveyond stable is still being increased by quality titles.
